Read what parents are saying about Hart-Ransom Elementary SchoolI went here all 9 years possible and graduated not too long ago. It was horrible. Bullying runs rampant and teachers just say nothing about it. Some teachers seem to believe that any mentally disabled children are just dumb. The teachers in charge of the resource room use a “one size fits all” method to attempt to help these children with learning and assignments. The dress code is either way too overly enforced or way to under the enforced there is no in between.
Posted by a community member on 6/14/2023I have 3 kids at this school and have had them here for 7 years. I have so many positive things to say about Hart Ransom. You get the private school vibe in a public school. I have never had a problem with my kids being bullied. From what I have seen, the teachers and staff do their best. I am a credentialed teacher myself and with that said, there is NO such thing as a perfect school. Hart Ransom had the kids’ best interest at heart. They make school fun and engaging. Most of the teachers I have known want to be there and they work their butts off. I appreciate all the things that they have done for my kids. Can things be tweaked? Sure. Almost anywhere you go that is the case. I look to see if my kids are thriving and are happy where they are. Hart Ransom gives them a safe, positive, learning environment to which they love to attend each year. Thank you teachers and staff for ALL you do!!! Your hard work is NOT under appreciated by my family and me.
Posted by a parent on 1/12/2021This is one of the most sought after schools in Modesto. Many parents want or wish to send their children to Hart Ransom and for good reason. My husband and I are alumni to this school, which is a big reason why our 2 boys go here. It is one of the best schools in Modesto. My husband and I had a great experience attending this school filled with great memories. Now, we want the same for our boys. We love being apart of this school’s community and would recommend attending to anyone
Posted by a parent on 1/12/2021This is not a good school. I sent my child to this school thinking it would be a great experience and she would make friends etc.. for 3 straight years all she’s known is bullying and the school all they know how to do is tell the other student to say sorry even if your childs life has been threatened sorry is enough.
Posted by a parent on 4/26/2018I think this school is great but it does need help in the bullying department.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI homeschool our 3 sons through Hart Ransom Academic Charter. They provide all the curriculum for free and I was able to choose what I wanted to use. All the curriculum meets the California State Common Core Standards. This school provides enrichment classes my boys enjoy. They still get social time with many friends and meet wonderful caring teachers and adults. Each time I am on campus I feel extremely confident and blessed my children are getting the education which suites their needs. This is a place which you can tailor to their interests and needs and foster a great love for learning and education!!Parent Review5y ago - Dena Boer School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI find it absolutely unacceptable and disgusting that this school was fully aware of a faulty AC issue in a special needs classroom and did not have a protocol in place to move these t students to another classroom on the hottest day of the year (114 F). The classroom teacher was asked about the plan in place for the upcoming heatwave with no response provided to parents. Children came home sick, tired and lethargic after being in a classroom all day without relief. Keep in mind these are special needs children who cannot advocate for themselves. There was no notification to parents to give them an option to pick them up. The response that this was the first they knew about the issue and the director stating that her staff (teachers aka grown adults) did not know they could go to her to for situations like this. That was the worst response I have ever heard from someone in a leadership position. That is either a poor selection of a teacher or poor training on the directors part. The story changed to this AC unit had an issue but it was fixed and they didn't know it was broken again. I would hope that if I oversaw a school and had parents reaching out for an answer on what their protocol was that I would check in on the classroom to make sure that the AC was working and students are ok. That would have only taken a few minutes with a phone call to the teacher. POOR LEADERSHIP! Glad to see that the AC is now being replaced but the fact that the poor kids suffered the entire day in that heat is heartbreaking.Parent Review1y ago - George Eisenhut Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my children attended school from k to 6 here. They are both very different. I've had good and bad experiences with teachers. I think it all depends on the teacher and how well equipped they are. I've struggled with my oldest since kindergarten with his attention span and behavior. Some teachers have more patience than others. I will say it was the more seasoned ones. They were willing to get him on an IEP, counseling, helping with plans at home to reinforce good behavior when staying on track. Then it seemed like a newer teacher to the school had nothing but bad to say when he started a new grade. After having improvements in the previous years. Not to mention the then vice principal (who is no longer there) telling my oldest he needed medication to stop day dreaming. Then called him a liar when confronted about it. But since having passed that grade and getting rid of that VP it was smooth sailing. The Vice Principal now Harvey is amazing. Never had a real issue with staff since then. There were some issues with bullying but quickly resolved.Parent Review2mo ago - Sierra Vista Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are in my daughters 3rd year here!!! Love it!!! Will be sending my next kid as soon as she is 3. The teachers are great, the director is axing, and they are on top on the kids. I understand it's not for everyone with their method, but it's for us.Parent Review9y ago
