Wood Colony Brethren School

Wow. What a horrible experience with this school. My daughters first school year and she wants to return to her old school. Too many bullies and politics. Neither principals call you back to discuss my concerns. Once you do complain they seem to single your child out and take it out on them.

I homeschool our 3 sons through Hart Ransom Academic Charter. They provide all the curriculum for free and I was able to choose what I wanted to use. All the curriculum meets the California State Common Core Standards. This school provides enrichment classes my boys enjoy. They still get social time with many friends and meet wonderful caring teachers and adults. Each time I am on campus I feel extremely confident and blessed my children are getting the education which suites their needs. This is a place which you can tailor to their interests and needs and foster a great love for learning and education!!

I have a child with special needs who’s been transitioning into mainstream classes. The combination of his main teacher and his special education teacher have both been absolutely amazing. He’s is now going into 2nd grade spending the majority of his time in the mainstream class. So far the school has been delightful and appreciate the teachers and staff interaction with my son. They really have helped him thrive.

Love this school, the staff and teachers. My son is doing very well and is being challenged.

I think this school is the best I been in

Both of my children attended school from k to 6 here. They are both very different. I've had good and bad experiences with teachers. I think it all depends on the teacher and how well equipped they are. I've struggled with my oldest since kindergarten with his attention span and behavior. Some teachers have more patience than others. I will say it was the more seasoned ones. They were willing to get him on an IEP, counseling, helping with plans at home to reinforce good behavior when staying on track. Then it seemed like a newer teacher to the school had nothing but bad to say when he started a new grade. After having improvements in the previous years. Not to mention the then vice principal (who is no longer there) telling my oldest he needed medication to stop day dreaming. Then called him a liar when confronted about it. But since having passed that grade and getting rid of that VP it was smooth sailing. The Vice Principal now Harvey is amazing. Never had a real issue with staff since then. There were some issues with bullying but quickly resolved.

Great school. Very small classes with 2 teachers aids. My son is much happier at this school.
