2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf I could give this school negative stars it would receive a -1. My son has been at Burrus since 1st grade and he is now in the fourth. Every single teacher he has had has not been proficient. This year alone he's had 3 different teachers before half of the year was up! Progress isn't reported in a timely fashion, administration does not respond to either email or phone calls unless you continuously harass them, the magnet program is a joke, and they are still living off of scores and achievements of years past. Just the other day my son came home with a gash and several cuts from being pushed into a window by another student and neither of his parents were notified. We had to find out upon him returning home bloody. Nothing is being done about consistent bullying to him. I can go on and on. This school is beyond horrible and we are removing our child this year. We just hope that the damage they've done can be reversed quickly. I sincerely hope that the district comes in and make serious personnel changes.Parent Review9y ago - Washington B T High School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagei think this is a very goog school. I am a 10th grader at Washington , and i love the teachers bacause they play the rold of your teacher and also a person you will learn to talk to about anything.Student Review9y ago - Williams Middle School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has not been the same for the last 3 years. It's the leadership. That Principal is a mess and she should not be in charge of those children. If I had to do it all over again, I would not let my children attend that school. The Administrative team and a few teachers should not be there. It's all about them and not the children.Parent Review7y ago - Check out schools near 322 E 40th St.

"I’ve lived here since 2015 and I absolutely love it. I feel very safe here the neighbors are friendly and look out for each other. The recent gentrification is changing the neighborhood but overall I still like it. "

"nice for it to be so populated, and most of the people around the area been here for a long time. schools are in the area."

"A lot of people here let their dogs come into your yard and poop. It’s pretty bad. A lot of folks also do not keep their dogs locked in their property so if you are out walking expect yo run into other loose dogs. Finally many residents don’t use leashes when walking their pups "

"do not move here! it's still going under gentrification which means there are still a lot of prostitutes and thieves the walk the streets at night my car gets broken into pretty regularly to the point where I don't even lock it anymore or keep valuables inside just to make it easier for someone to see there's no need to break my windows. if you're dumb enough to fall for the cheap rent that's your fault"

"What makes this neighborhood unique is the neighbors. Don't do it, you will regret it. I wake up to gun shots at least once a week. The parking is horrible. Don't have gatherings cause neighbor will harass guest. Home is beautiful but area is horrible."
