This school has not been the same for the last 3 years. It's the leadership. That Principal is a mess and she should not be in charge of those children. If I had to do it all over again, I would not let my children attend that school. The Administrative team and a few teachers should not be there. I

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageToday was a blessing, enjoying Grandparents Day with my grandson. However, HISD was unbelievably disappointing. I graduated from an HISD school in 1993, and back then the support system was remarkable, parents were highly involved academically as well as in extracurricular activities.What I witnessed today at Durham Elementary was nothing like that. Grandparents were not reassured, nor respectfully acknowledged, and being left to sit outside in the heat for lunch was truly disheartening , especially considering that some grandparents are older and should have been accommodated with more care. They definitely need a better Principal as a replacement asap!
