4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf your child has disabilities or challenges adjusting to new settings do not enroll your child here. If you have a child on the spectrum with an IEP, do not expect them to follow it or even look at it. What you can expect is a phone call 1.5 days into your child attending kindergarten saying they exhausted all of their resources from the head ESE teacher, who admits she herself, being a resource, has not even met with your child. on that same phone call being told me we need to have an emergency iep meeting, i was expected to set up over the phone on a Friday for the following week without consulting the father of my child to make the meeting date and being told that they do not need to be in attendance or aware, it can be just you since you don’t work. She said “the person needed to sign off on the iep meeting notice is not there to sign and mail out today.” My son came home with new echolalic phrases like “you’re not a good boy” and “you’re so annoying.” the ESE teacher while on the phone with me had pulled up other schools in my area to attend. And when i ask “Are you removing him from your school?!” I was met with “we have exhausted all of our resources here.” the kindergarten teacher told me your child has to be surrounded by four adults at all times, when in reality your child needs calm direction from one person at a time to be able to understand what is expected and process direction. my child needs compassion and understanding of time needed for processing. They do not offer this there. They will ignore antecedents, cause a meltdown and escalate situations because they simply do not want to deal with a challenge or behavior and want your child gone. they will ignore and promote dysregulation of sensory sensitivities to achieve this. They will add trauma to your child and they will be bold enough to do it in front of your face. On the last day I allowed my child to be in that school, I went to pickup & principal stopped me told he was waiting in the office. When I went into the lobby I could hear him screaming crying about sand on a toy duck they gave him. I put it on the counter and asked the AP not to give it him due to sand sensitivities, she stared at me. When we were leaving she told my son after me trying to calm my son “see you tomorrow and you can have the ducks back” causing the meltdown to worsen. They bank on you not knowing your IEP rights and do not want to put in work to help kids with disabilities. Don’t choose this school.Parent Review7mo ago - Cape Coral High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThere is no opportunity for kids to get involved in clubs and sports. There is just not enough. Administrators want nothing to do with the children’s’ success and leave it all up to the teachers to take care of things. They don’t listen to parental concerns and use one test score to choose your child’s entire path. - regardless of you parental concerns. They won’t listen to you!Parent Review6mo ago - Mariner High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers are very good, (some), the teaching is very good and as a Spanish-speaking student I have learned and the teachers have helped me a lot. As for the bosses as the main ones have a difficult character, what I didn't like was that they care more about reputation and image instead of making students feel good, too many rules and some nonsense. But as a graduate student from there I recommend it, at least you can deal with that problem, I'm just telling you that as a student focus on your things and never stop believing in yourself.Other Review10mo ago - Diplomat Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageGreat school. So far and for the past 3 years the level of communication during this time has been exceptional. The teachers I have dealt with have consistently been responsive, going above and beyond to ensure that my children's needs are met. Their commitment to effective communication has truly enhanced the educational experience. The staff members have been incredibly informative and helpful, providing valuable insights and addressing any concerns promptly. The principal's dedication to staying closely connected is great to see.I am also highly appreciative of the school's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment the students. It's clear that they prioritize the well-being and development of the students.Parent Review8mo ago - Diplomat Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school has much to be desired. My daughter is a Carson Scholar and has never received worse than a B, until this year. She has turned in assignments on time as always, and the 6th grade teacher Sandra Villela does not grade them in a timely manner. A week will pass, my daughter follows up and nothing. The teacher then marks assignments as late or 0, and my child has taken a D in her class which will surely have her removed from the Carson’s Scholar program this year and she is devastated. She works her tail off academically, in the community, in travel sports, and this is what happens. In addition, my son is in 8th grade here and has similar issues where he turned in work and it’s graded after the due date. It’s infuriating as you can see the time stamp of when the work was submitted and when it was graded (much later) and the kids are penalized. We have spoken up to assistant principals and counselors on this matter which has led to teachers scolding our kids after they were spoken to from upper management. Very toxic, we won’t stand for this type of behavior and if the school will not remedy the situation we will continue to make sure the public outside knows.Parent Review6mo ago - Hector A. 2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers we have encountered at this school have been very engaging and have been great with assisting when they have had challenges. They are big on accountability which was a welcoming sight with so many not caring about student homework completion in many schools in the last decade. I did not hear a lot of positivity around this school, but I have seen less drama within the student community and fights in comparison to families I know with students attending other schools within the Cape Coral/North Fort Myers area. I wish there was a stronger support system with sports is the only drawback. I do recommend the school and like the newness of the campus as well.Parent Review9mo ago - Check out schools near 1920 NE 20th Pl.
