Teachers are reasonably effective but college prep and post graduate guidance largely lacking. Communication lines between staff and parents is severely lacking due to multiple channels and inconsistent broadcasts. Important events and school related information often gets missed or lost in the morass of different emails, texts and social platforms. Facilities, equipment and amenities for in-school and after school programs is also lacking from the music programs to the athletic programs. Budgets and spending do not seem to be efficiently allocated. Ideological influences are also present at the school which guides curriculum and is often selectively emphasized certain cultural or gender groups. Overall, while the school appears to cover its bases in terms of basic education, Shorecrest has a lot of room for improvement to better meet the needs of students in the classroom and out of the classroom.
