"Best neighborhood in Seattle in our opinion. A great mix of urban amenities and family feel. We feel safe and as if we are in community of like minded people. Awesome place to live. We would not choose any other neighborhood in Seattle over Queen Anne. "

"Magnolia is the bomb!!!! Discovery Park, farmer’s market, cute town center, and plenty of dog friendly parks! Also, they have a great bakery! It’s pretty pricey, but you get what you pay for. "

"Everyone is so friendly! I feel very safe and have walked all over this neighborhood with my dog. You see familiar faces all the time. There is a great teriyaki joint down the street and a greens shop next door! It’s also safe to park your car on the street. "

"My commute is consistently only 10 minutes. I don’t use public transit, but have heard it is a good option. "

"To Downtown it is super quick and easy as it is to the south end and the airport. Across town at rush hour is more difficult. To the Eastside such as Bellevue and Kirkland is a breeze before 7:30am "

"There are a lot of dark sidewalks and a lot of people drive way too fast but my dog loves all the greenery to explore!"

"Close to Ballard, Fremont, Magnolia and Downtown. Queen Anne’s center can be pricey but it’s so easy to get around to other neighborhoods. Lived here 6 years and rarely had any issues."

"I've lived north Queen Anne for almost three years and have no intention of leaving anytime soon! Located right by Seattle Pacific University, you are in the midst of the buzz that a college campus provides, with the serenity of feeling like you are miles away from the city. With two large parks within a 5 minute walk, I walk my dog alone in the mornings and evenings without any fear or worry. The top of Queen Anne hill boasts a handful of restaurants, coffee shops, exercise studios, home decor shops and much, much more. This location is also conveniently less than 5 minutes from both Fremont and Ballard. The entertainment options are truly endless! "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe feel incredibly fortunate to be part of the SCDS community. Both of our children attend this school, and their growth—both academically and personally—has been remarkable. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to challenge and nurture gifted learners, allowing each child to truly thrive in their own way. What stands out most is how the school not only focuses on advanced academics but also fosters creativity, critical thinking, and a deep sense of curiosity. The leadership under the principal, Kim, is outstanding. She is deeply committed, approachable, and brings a clear vision that prioritizes both academic excellence and the well-being of every student. Her leadership has brought a sense of stability and direction that we truly appreciate as parents. It’s disappointing to see some of the extreme negative reviews, as they don’t reflect our experience at all. In fact, our family has consistently felt heard, supported, and part of a vibrant, positive community. The teachers are exceptional—passionate about what they do, and always attentive to each child’s needs. If you’re looking for a place where your child will be intellectually challenged, supported, and inspired, SCDS is a truly special environment. We couldn’t be happier with our decision to send our children here.Parent Review1y ago24 Reviews - Seattle Country Day School
