"I’ve lived here in LQA/Uptown since late September 2020; and love it here… there’s good food and bars, lots of things going on, Seattle Center is pretty lively, etc."

"Kraken games at the climate pledge arena, other events at the arena. Ballet if you are into that. "

"Dogs everywhere, which you may like or not like. Great walking routes, up, down, water views, parks. Can run errands with your doggo easily."

"Decent selection of restaurants and entertainment. Centrally located to other Seattle neighborhoods, although being so close to the arena and relying on Mercer St to get to I5 means most weekends you just end up staying home rather than deal with traffic. "

"I live in uptown actually, but I'm close interbay. It's not as pretty as other neighborhoods, but is segregated enough from downtown that you feel safe walking around. It feels like the closest suburban area to Seattle without be suburban."

"Most places are accessible by public transit. Some of the hilly areas are tricky in the wintertime. "

"Lots of dogs in the neighborhood. Grassy areas are abundant. Some dogs off leash which is annoying. "

"I’d raise kids in upper Queen Anne, lower QA is a bit sketchy and I wouldn’t want my kids seeing some of the things that go on there. At least not until they were preteen age "

"Neighborhood gem Myrtle Edwards park: Big lawns, wide paths, little cove beaches, and 360 degree views of the city and Elliot Bay - a fantastic place for a dog walk."

"The Seattle Center is really close by and a great place to walk dogs or let them have play dates. Many of the cafes/restaurants in the area have outdoor seating. "

"It’s a quiet, transitional neighborhood with some transients people and some younger and a few older people that borders an older, more moneyed and even quieter neighborhood."

"Super easy to get around and centrally locates. I have lived here for 2 1/2 years and really like the neighborhood. Really quiet, friendly neighbors, and lots to do. Can walk to the waterfront in less than 10 minutes, or Kinear Park."

"Bumbershoot and otter event in Seattle center. Along with great neighbors. Base to space is a fun stair climb up the space needle. As well as folk festival where lots of cultures join together. "

"I've lived here for almost a year now, and I can't complain. Lower Queen Anne is convenient to almost everything- short bus ride downtown, has a ton of options for grocery stores, and close to some really cute parks and nice views. I feel mostly safe, and it's quiet for the most part."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAll 3 of our kids went to YCA through pre-k. There were particular staff members and aspects of the program that elevated it above simple daycare, but when I compare it to the private school they now attend, I don't think YCA compares overall. I think the fact that it is a for-profit business is a problem in that some decisions are made not on the basis of what best serves the educational needs of a particular child, but on the owner's bottom line and/or what is a better 'business decision.' For example, lots of kids don't need another year of 'letter of the week' when they get to pre-k but are already pretty much reading. Not offering an alternative to the lock-step program when this is the case is an opportunity missed and one that a lot of other schools are able to harness.Parent Review16y ago1 Reviews - St Anne School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son has been a part of Young Child Academy and Queen Anne Community School for 4 years. He is currently in Kindergarten and will stay for first grade next year. QACS is a great school with incredible teachers and a very nurturing environment. We love the diversity of academics, reading, writing, math, language, music, art, yoga, daily walks to the park and monthly visits to the Seattle Public Library.Parent Review15y ago2 Reviews
