"I lived in this neighborhood for 2 years. It’s got a lot going on. Butts up against Green Lake Park, has plenty to restaurants that are walkable, and a decent nightlife on 45th"

"There’s poop bag stations located on the streets in case you forget yours or need another one. There are some patchy grass area but wish there could be more for dogs to use the restroom. That might be strategic. "

"Seattle’s funky neighborhood close to the city but far enough from downtown that it can still feel calm. Neighbors are nice and helpful, great place to live!"

"Too far. I have a either wait to get on the 5 or take the toll tunnel. I hate it. I work in Rainier so it seems like I’m always hitting traffic at the wrong time as well. "

"The unique people and locally run restaurants and shops. Still a neighborhood that is keeping the heart beat of seattle alone. "

"Easy 2 minute walk to a bus then a 10-15 minute bus ride to my office downtown. If I get a ride there can be traffic on Aurora, but it only adds a few minutes. "

"There is a big Solstice parade in the summertime filled with naked bike riders and floats through the streets. There are also many art installations throughout the neighborhood including the troll under the bridge, dinosaur hedges, the statue of Lenin, the spaceship and big Saturn. The list goes on. I love how close Fremont is to the canal trails and Gas Works park."

"You can go out any day of the week and there's generally always something going on. it's a neighborhood filled w/20 something's to early 40's, don't see a lot of kids but I'm sure they're around and that the future will bring even more. "

"None. We meet at terrific market Marketime and cafes. The only community center is green lake and you don’t really meet people much there. It’s crowded. There is good turnout for Woodland park sports... not much else"

"Naked Bike Ride! Statue of Lenin. The Fremont Troll. Oktoberfest. I love living by the Burke Gilman trail as well. The proximity to Gas Works Park is also a huge plus."

"Along my block we always either wave hello if not say hello which is a welcome & appreciative thing since previously I lived in an area where no one knew their neighbor nor even really made eye contact with one another at the very least, which always felt silly to me. Also, everyone knows eachother's pets so if one of them happens to escape... they never get very far before they're seen by someone on the block and brought home in generally a quick enough lapse of time that the owner hasn't even noticed their absence yet! "It’s right in the heart of the city. Really good restaurants and bars within walking distance. It’s central to all neighborhoods making it easy to get around with or without a car. It’s right off lake union and close to gas works park. It also the Sunday Fremont farmers market within walking distance. It’s where the Solstice parade is held every June. "

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have a student there now and another on the way next year- The community cares so much about the children attending school there. The teachers, educators, support and principal are always in support of the childrens needs. I enjoy seeing the teachers receive my child with a smile and warm support as they enter the building. The communication is always comfortable and easy.Parent Review2y ago31 Reviews - Pacific Crest Schools

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageA rare experience to have AMI certified staff through middle school. As a parent who had questions about the efficacy and process, PCS has delivered on every single metric.Tons of support. Child centered and communicative. Lots of parental involvement and supportive sessions throughout each individual stage. As a parent we started at PCS in elementary and are now nearing the end of middle school and we are more confident by the day in our child's progress, ability to handle the world at large and grow into a fully realized, compassionate and motivated individual.Parent Review3y ago7 Reviews - Northwest Montessori School Woodland Park Campus

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe've had two kids at the Wedgwood campus and have known several families at Woodland Park, all in the primary program (ages 2.5 to 6, including Kindergarten). Our experience with Northwest Montessori has been overwhelmingly positive. The teachers are fantastic, striking a thoughtful balance between structure and play. My kids are constantly engaged in learning—without even realizing it—and developing new skills in ways that other play-based programs we've tried couldn't quite match. One of the things we love most is the mixed-age classrooms. Younger children get to learn from older peers, and it's incredible to watch them develop independence and leadership skills. There's something really special about seeing a 3-year-old patiently help a younger child put on their shoes. As for safety and behavior, the school takes a thoughtful and proactive approach. Preschoolers—no matter where they are—will sometimes struggle with social conflicts, but what really matters is how teachers handle those moments. At Northwest Montessori, the staff are skilled at anticipating and de-escalating conflicts before they become bigger issues. They provide kids with the tools to manage their emotions and navigate social situations, rather than resorting to punitive measures that don't actually teach the right skills. We've been at a school before where conflicts were met with isolation or discipline that didn't fit a child's developmental level, and the difference here is night and day. The teachers are engaged, responsive, and quick to step in when needed. I've personally seen a teacher—normally calm and composed—jump into action when a situation escalated unexpectedly. This school creates an environment where kids learn not just academics, but also emotional intelligence, problem-solving, and respect for others. We've been so grateful for the teachers and staff who make that possible.Parent Review1y ago2 Reviews - Pacific Crest School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had the privilege of being both a student and a staff member at Pacific Crest, and I can confidently say that it is an exceptional learning community. As a student, I was able to grow academically, socially, and emotionally in a supportive and challenging environment. The teachers and staff were dedicated to helping me reach my full potential, and I am grateful for the positive impact they had on my life.As a staff member, I've been able to witness firsthand the dedication and passion that the teachers and staff bring to their work every day. The school's commitment to providing a well-rounded education for students is evident in the academic, extracurricular, and community engagement opportunities available.Overall, I highly recommend Pacific Crest to anyone looking for a high-quality, nurturing Montessori learning environment. It's been a privilege to be a part of such a wonderful community, and I am proud to be associated with this school.Other Review3y ago5 Reviews
