8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIf you have children with special needs or who are gifted, then this is not the school I would recommend. Our experience has been extremely discouraging and heartbreaking. If your kids don't have the issues stated above then you will be fine.Parent Review1y ago15 Reviews - Dumfries Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFront desk has an awful attitude. My daughter got hurt back to back within 1 week and were given excuses on why a parent wasn’t reached. Mind you this was a head injury and I’m a nurse myself. I had a talk with someone in administration who did not formally say who they were but stated they would follow up. This school does not follow up with parents when it comes incidents. They administration hide their credentials and do not state who they are over the phone unless you are in person. I DO NOT RECOMMEND and can’t wait to move out of dumfries.Parent Review5mo ago9 Reviews - John F. Pattie Sr. Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter went to this school for one and she was heavy bullied by somebody with a disability she was slapped hit and she's also disabled. school never took matters correctly into hands. told my daughter to ignore the bullying. my daughter suffered 1 stroke. from the underlying stress and thousands of freezes up meaning she couldn't move her body I gave the school doctors notes everything for them to stop the bullying but wouldn't because the student had a behavior problem. my daughter was having so much anxiety it was terrifying. I can't believe what this school put my daughter through. and when she finally fought back after being hit multiple times with things inside PE. she defended herself. she got suspended and was told to apologize? in front of the whole school for her actions. actually, I'll never recommend this school to ANYONE. and my daughter told everything to teachers the head they did nothing but talked it out which didn't work at all. worst school my daughter has ever been to more like a prison.Parent Review2y ago15 Reviews - Neabsco Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love this school. The teachers and the staff are very sweet and professional. We moved from Europe when my daughter started first grade at the school. She did not know any English at the time. She will be fifth grade next year, and the improvement , she has succeeded is incredible. She passed very well her SOL tests, and in addition she was accepted to the gifted program. Further more, this school has free tutoring, which helps students to be on schedule for studying, and helps them to resolve not understanding material. In conclusion, as a parent, who would like a child do well in education, this school prepares students very well for Middle school academic. Thank you so much to the Principal and all the teachers. 7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been here since Kindergarten and I love this school so much, The staff and teachers are the nicest people and are so child-friendly, and I'm proud that I stayed here until Middle School. It has field trips, field days, nice people, beautiful paintings on the wall and so many educational sources and activities for children to join they always communicate with families to show how friendly the school is and it makes learning fun. I love the memories I made here and they are always looking to improve the school. If you want an early learning for the best experience, I would recommend Mary F Williams Elementary School.Other Review2y ago24 Reviews - Fannie W. Fitzgerald Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am both a parent of students that attend Fitzgerald and an employee for 3 years now. My children have loved Fitzgerald since they first started in August of 2022. They always come home excited to explain what they learned or the activities/ projects that were taught that day. My children love their teachers and their report/ progress report always reflects this. I am grateful for these individuals. As an employee, I have never worked in an environment where the staff is not only very knowledgeable, but supportive and kind to one another. If an individual is unable to answer your question or concern, they will point you in the direction of someone who can. No question is a silly question. I appreciate this because I am just beginning my career in education. I do not plan on working at any other school. Also, there are plenty of Professional Development trainings where employees are able to continue learning more effective teaching strategies and resources to better support our students. Administration is amazing. I believe that they support staff and students in the best and fairest way that they are able. We are a big school, so timely responses aren't always possible but the issue is always taken care of. Administration takes the mental capacity of students and staff seriously. They are supportive of mental health days and whatever else staff may need to ensure that we are at our best so that we can best instruct and support the students. Administration are always honest, direct and clear with their critique and intentions for the school year. I love Fitzgerald!Other Review1y ago23 Reviews - Calvary Christian School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhere do I begin, Calvary is an exemplary Christian School. Mr. Wallace and the staff are amazing and it shows through their dedication and sacrifice for the children who attend. My daughter started when we first moved to the area and within a year she progressed tremendously. During COVID, they did not miss a beat, the transition to online was literally seamless and when the kids went back to school they implemented measures that ensured the children were safe. The lovely young lady who takes the temperatures every morning is a heaven sent, she was Always in good spirits and there were a few mornings where I was not at my greatest and she somehow managed to get me back together. All I can say that the love of Christ is definitely represented at this school and you no parent will regret sending their child here. Keep up the good work Calvary and God's Best!Parent Review4y ago7 Reviews
