Newport Heights Condominium

I would like to share my experience as a parent of a student at this school. I appreciate the work that many members of the staff do and the opportunities my child has had to learn and grow.However, I also want to express a concern that has caused me a great deal of pain. During this time, I have felt that there has been a difference in the way the teacher communicates with me and responds to me compared to the way she communicates with my child’s father. At times, I have felt ignored and that my voice as a mother has not been given the same importance.I cannot say with certainty what the reason is, but I cannot help wondering if my Latino background or cultural differences have influenced the way I have been treated. As a mother, my only desire is for my child to receive the same support, respect, and consideration from both parents, regardless of whether it is the father or the mother.I hope the school will listen to this concern and work to ensure that all families are treated with equality, respect, and without any type of favoritism or discrimination.

We have loved Muir for years, 5 of our children have attended over a 16 year period of time. The teachers and other other school employees have been wonderful and provided opportunities for our children to grow and succeed. This year, there is new administration and my son feels fearful and unsafe due to stringent and cold leadership. The environment of care and concern for our children that has been fostered for years, is disintegrating and I am very concerned that our kids best interest or the support of our teachers is taking a back seat to other agendas.

This school is GREAT! I had 3 kids over the span of 7 years here at Oak Hills. I love the admin and teachers and I know whenever I had a concern I could bring it to their attention and have it resolved. The PTA is overkill and a little intense. I always joke, back to school morning you better bring your running shoes because each parent RUNS to the classroom to sign up for the Halloween houses or the Christmas around the world or the other seni-religious traditions this school maintains. I liked being involved but I don't like the feeling of the competitive stay-at-home moms. Overall, great school and your kids will be well cared for!

Had an awful experience with their special education services for my daughter. They broke a lot of protocols and were very discrimative.

My daughter loves her school. The administration has always been helpful, the teachers have passion and the volunteers are plentiful.
