Posted by a community member on 2/10/2017Love Bountiful Elementary! Great PTA that supports the students with fun and meaningful activities that involves students, family and staff! Small school with personal attention. My son has been there since kindergarten and now in fifth grade and he has been happy there every year!!
Posted by a parent on 2/10/2017This is a great school with fantastic teachers. The principal is caring and available and the parents are very involved. The school has a lot of technology, an accelerated program for grades 1-3, a school play, and great activities. They are a B school according the state grading system.
Posted by a parent on 2/9/2017I teach here, and I am very impressed with my fellow teachers and the parent volunteers.
Posted by a community member on 8/13/2016Last year i shared a success story. The one in the reviews about my boy excelling and being able to change his meds.... they got a new principal for the 2015-2016 school year. He seems to be awesome and can convince you he will do all he can to fix any problems, but he wont. Since he came in the whole school has fallen apart. No phone calls with injuries (minor or major), not following medical excuse notes, not dealing with bullying on either side of it, oh and I can't forget not updating iep as required nor following the iep. I have never been more dissatisfied with a school. My son has emotional damage from this year that will require major therapy and years of reconditioning. The district could repair this school and prevent more children this damage, if and only if they sent in a better principal, not one who is charismatic.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is really a great school. The principal studies the research of what improves success in students and actually implements them. It’s awesome. They have so many activities for the kids. Friday clubs is really neat. They take time to explore their interests outside of the day to day classroom. They have acting, singing, Minecraft and art clubs, to name a few. I think it’s really neat that they are allowing kids to foster more opportunities like that. It’s really cool. My son tried acting for a month and they had a school wide program where kids could perform. My son was in a play and there were kids around the school performing or showing their parents what they are doing. I really like the encouragement with parent involvement, they welcome parent volunteers in class and with the school. Our last school didn’t do that, it’s nice to be able to go and help out. It helps create a sense of community (in the school we moved from, it felt school was really separate and here I like how open they are in sharing what they are doing). They seem to have more opportunities her than our last school, the school counselor is amazing. One thing that really stands out to me is they have a meditation room. It’s a safe place where kids can go to help regulate their emotions when they are feeling imbalanced. I absolutely love the focus of the school is on the entire wellbeing of the child. They focus on getting their core needs met so they are emotionally regulated and in a state of mind to learn. The class sizes are not too big and from my experience have provided ample one-on-one attention. I’ve talked with other moms in the school who say the same thing. It was scary for my children to start a new school this year, and I’ll admit I was apprehensive at first as change can be difficult. I’m so glad we did. I adore this school, what it stands for and the school receptionists are even really cool. Which helps a lot as for most of us parents, that is our main interaction with the whole school. Great school.Parent Review11mo ago - Oak Hills School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is GREAT! I had 3 kids over the span of 7 years here at Oak Hills. I love the admin and teachers and I know whenever I had a concern I could bring it to their attention and have it resolved. The PTA is overkill and a little intense. I always joke, back to school morning you better bring your running shoes because each parent RUNS to the classroom to sign up for the Halloween houses or the Christmas around the world or the other seni-religious traditions this school maintains. I liked being involved but I don't like the feeling of the competitive stay-at-home moms. Overall, great school and your kids will be well cared for!Parent Review3y ago - Woods Cross School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would not recommend this school for several reasons: 1) My daughter has a speech disability, and she has received completely inadequate support. After 5 years at St. Olaf’s, my daughter is in the < 0.1 percentile for speech for kids her age. 2) Nearly every standardized test I’ve seen for my daughters indicates that Intervention is needed. My daughters are in the 21st percentile nationally for math. Despite the small class sizes at St. Olaf’s, this is not a school of educational excellence. 3) Every year there is significant teacher turn-over. This year 6 of the 13 teachers were new. The middle school math teacher left abruptly over the weekend in Oct, and there was no math teacher for over a month. 4) My daughters have experienced frequent bullying by a male classmate with severe behavioral issues who outweighs them by 2X. The school has done nothing to keep them safe. Unfortunately in my case there is another parent involved, otherwise I would've pulled my girls 5 years ago.Parent Review2mo ago
