I would like to share my experience as a parent of a student at this school. I appreciate the work that many members of the staff do and the opportunities my child has had to learn and grow.However, I also want to express a concern that has caused me a great deal of pain. During this time, I have felt that there has been a difference in the way the teacher communicates with me and responds to me compared to the way she communicates with my child’s father. At times, I have felt ignored and that my voice as a mother has not been given the same importance.I cannot say with certainty what the reason is, but I cannot help wondering if my Latino background or cultural differences have influenced the way I have been treated. As a mother, my only desire is for my child to receive the same support, respect, and consideration from both parents, regardless of whether it is the father or the mother.I hope the school will listen to this concern and work to ensure that all families are treated with equality, respect, and without any type of favoritism or discrimination.

We have loved Muir for years, 5 of our children have attended over a 16 year period of time. The teachers and other other school employees have been wonderful and provided opportunities for our children to grow and succeed. This year, there is new administration and my son feels fearful and unsafe due to stringent and cold leadership. The environment of care and concern for our children that has been fostered for years, is disintegrating and I am very concerned that our kids best interest or the support of our teachers is taking a back seat to other agendas.

Had an awful experience with their special education services for my daughter. They broke a lot of protocols and were very discrimative.

We wanted to love this school. Unfortunately, if your child is not a robot the teacher's and principal will not know what to do. It feels very "old fashioned" in the approach to disipline. My biggest concern is a total lack of Catholic identify. The teachers, Vice Principal and Principal sure expect students to be living a Christian life, when they themselves don't emulate the same. Administration is constantly yelling and lecturing students. Nearly daily my students have a story of somebody yelling at them for something. In no way is this what you would expect from a Catholic school and I have heard that even more families will be moving after what has been experienced this year. Some of the new teachers who have come in are great. Some have already quit. The new principal has done well at sprucing up the campus, but that's about as much as she has done to help this school thrive. They need a new administration who actually cares about the families. The VP needs to go (not even sure she has a teaching credential).
