"Do owners like when other dogs owner pick up after their dogs. They don’t like that the neighborhood doesn’t have a dog park for their dogs to run around and play."

"So unfortunately with the current status of our situation we do not and more than likely will not have any occurring events that make our neighborhood special although we do have a great church community unifying us as a community and as well as a great park ecosystem ."

"Located near main highways, it is easy to commute anywhere you need to around Houston relatively quickly, especially since going into town from the east side goes against traffic."

"Sometimes there's gunshots. It keeps things exciting. Last night I though the house down the road was involved in a drive by, but as it turns out, their kids had leftover fireworks."

"I've lived at my current address for 15 years. I live around the corner from my mom's house where I grew up. I left for 11years when I joined the military. My mom has lived in this neighborhood for 40+ years. One if the main reasons I moved here besides to be close to mom is that it has never flooded."

"Too many stray dogs in area. Not safe to walk alone, or with small dogs. Walking stick required. Don't walk alone at night. "

"It’s diverse. It’s close & central to everything. Clean neighborhood. I feel safe. By the train but you can’t even hear it unless you are outside. "

"I've lived in the area for almost 2 years. It's not a quiet area at all and heavy traffic daily. The commute to downtown takes about 30 minutes during the week if you leave early enough. "

"Didn't flood during Harvey. It's growing, getting nicer, cleaner, every year. No gangs or high rate crime area. They're building more businesses, schools, libraries, etc."

"It's peaceful and safe. Also my house never gets flooded, only my street. It also is a short commute to my job. Our neighbors are respectful."

"This place is a little known gem in Houston! It takes me 10 minutes to drive to Houston Medical center from this neighborhood, and a little over 13 minutes to drive to the galleria. I can get to NRG park (formally reliant Park) in no time at all, and there are so many ways to the above mentioned places that I can avoid freeways if necessary. The area is very quiet and many of my acquaintances often comment on that when they visit me. My neighborhood HOA is pretty active and keeps an eye on community affairs. All in all, commute is good and area is pretty decent."

"This is a beautiful up-and-coming area where house prices are sure to rise! Great access to downtown Houston and the Medical Center!"

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIt’s interesting to see a perfect 5-star review posted right as a former 8th grader expressed their obvious lackluster experience. A 17% math proficiency rate doesn't really line up with 'learning something new and exciting' every day; it feels more like a PR attempt to cover up the actual data and the experiences of students struggling with bullying and basic academics. I agree with the recent alum; the specifics about 'collective punishment' and the lack of high school prep ring much truer than a generic 5-star post. A school honestly can't be 'family-friendly' if the students' mental health is suffering to the point of unenrolling.Parent Review3mo ago9 Reviews - Almeda Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience at this school was absolutely AWESOME!! This school was not only a place of employment, but it was a close nit family oriented school within the community and among the staff. This school makes me feel like the sitcom "CHEERS" I wanna goooo where everyone knows my name. The staff is so loving and understanding as well as knowledgeable. We achieved so much more because we worked together on one accord to accomplish the tasks at hand. Mrs. Kiser is an impactful leader whom motivates the students to strive for success daily. Mrs. Moore is a great listener, and great teacher in which she continues to bring joy in the classroom. I really appreciate Ms. RAYFORD for the inspiration and motivation that shed light into my situations. She motivates students, and encourages them while bringing excitement to the classroom. Nurse Dones is very sincere, trustworthy and hard working nurse who is great at what she does. The ancillary team are AMAZING!!!!! I want to give a shout out to Coach Cornell, Ms. Blackwell, Mrs. Simmons, annnnd MR. Makoge for all the hard work and dedication they pour out! They made my day enjoyable ALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY! Ms. A in PALS class for having the ideal model classroom setup showing education in motion. There are so many things I can talk about, but most people forget those small things that really matters. I am thankful for the journey I experienced at Grissom. They always will be my Grissom family.Teacher Review2y ago3 Reviews - Hobby Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school itself is great but the school does LITTLE about bullying. They punish the children BEING bullied as opposed to children doing the BULLING. I understand bullys are everywhere and kids are kids but as a parent coming with receipts about the incident and still nothing from the other parents, I now how to go to extreme measures just to get a point across.Parent Review2y ago11 Reviews
