Meyerpark Elementary School

After the TURMOIL and pain this unorganized sorry excuse for a school system... That hires literally anyone with NO EXPERIENCE .IF I could give this place 0 STARS I WOULD

This school is terrible, theres no A/C in the school, I enrolled my son with special needs in May 2025, went to meet the teaching in July and they didnt have my son enrolled, I have to re enroll my son 4 more times, because their explanation was that " they didn't have or lost the enrollment paperwork", they called me this afternoon at 3:50pm saying my son was going to be transferred to another school because of over capacity, if this was an issue before why wasn't this brought up before enrollment, not only that but they also have my special needs son transferring over to another school and needing me to withdraw him the next day and starting the next day also, my son has a sibling in this school and his grandpa picks him up at school when it dismissal time, and has no other transportation, he isnt good with change, so him barely getting use to this school was alot of change. When i tell you DONT HAVE YOUR CHILD ATTEND THIS SCHOOL, I MEAN IT DONT HAVE YOUR CHILD ATTEND SCHOOL. THEY CHARGE THE KIDS FOR EVERYTHING EVEN FOR A FREE DRESS DAY WHICH IS $5, AND YOU WOULD THINK THE MONEY WILL GO TO FIXING THE A/C BUT THEY DONT CARE ABOUT THE KIDS.

Very involve teachers, principal and staff. Very organized field trips, easy drop off and pick up students at arrival and dismissal times, I as a parent feel confident to talk to principal over any concern. This school is dual language spanish /english. This school has special education classroom for autism student based on aba and picture exchange communication. I'm highly satisfied as a parent of students here at fondren elementary school.

I have three kids. One has gone all the way through Parker, one is in 4th grade. We have had a great experience at Parker. We love the music magnet, both kids play violin. We feel safe here, the parents are super involved, which makes the school feel like a warm and welcoming community.

The school itself is great but the school does LITTLE about bullying. They punish the children BEING bullied as opposed to children doing the BULLING. I understand bullys are everywhere and kids are kids but as a parent coming with receipts about the incident and still nothing from the other parents, I now how to go to extreme measures just to get a point across.

My child attends Halpin ECC. She has been there for 3 years. I wud the school had grade levels up to 5. My child is currently reading, writing, and doing math. Sheets her goals on the tests. She loves going to school every day! They lost their counselor this year but she hasn’t had any issues because of this. We love Halpin! The principal is always available to talk to you. Everyone is nice and supportive.
