Windsor Village Elementary School

The curriculum at this school is great but the way administration handles affairs needs a lot of work. It is a small school so I am sure that they don't have all of the necessary technology needed to run the business side of the school in a true professional manner. All in all I am very pleased with the curriculum.

It’s interesting to see a perfect 5-star review posted right as a former 8th grader expressed their obvious lackluster experience. A 17% math proficiency rate doesn't really line up with 'learning something new and exciting' every day; it feels more like a PR attempt to cover up the actual data and the experiences of students struggling with bullying and basic academics. I agree with the recent alum; the specifics about 'collective punishment' and the lack of high school prep ring much truer than a generic 5-star post. A school honestly can't be 'family-friendly' if the students' mental health is suffering to the point of unenrolling.

Very involve teachers, principal and staff. Very organized field trips, easy drop off and pick up students at arrival and dismissal times, I as a parent feel confident to talk to principal over any concern. This school is dual language spanish /english. This school has special education classroom for autism student based on aba and picture exchange communication. I'm highly satisfied as a parent of students here at fondren elementary school.

Briargate is a good school but the students are bad, or at least some of them are. This school has had so many fights, and especially 5th grade, which is the grade I'm in right now, they tell each others business and that starts fights or they talk about each other to just their friends and the other person hears it and they fight or they pick fights in front of everyone. The students will never or couldn't care for any lesson taught unless it is a challenge or something fun, this school is just something else but from a students perspective who everyone can trust and has never gotten in trouble before, this school is very nice and funny. Once a teacher made her students walk the halls and everyone was crying but one teacher stood up to her but the teacher wasn't fired, (by the way, the teacher had them walking for at least 2 hours when the other teacher confronted her).

My experience at this school was absolutely AWESOME!! This school was not only a place of employment, but it was a close nit family oriented school within the community and among the staff. This school makes me feel like the sitcom "CHEERS" I wanna goooo where everyone knows my name. The staff is so loving and understanding as well as knowledgeable. We achieved so much more because we worked together on one accord to accomplish the tasks at hand. Mrs. Kiser is an impactful leader whom motivates the students to strive for success daily. Mrs. Moore is a great listener, and great teacher in which she continues to bring joy in the classroom. I really appreciate Ms. RAYFORD for the inspiration and motivation that shed light into my situations. She motivates students, and encourages them while bringing excitement to the classroom. Nurse Dones is very sincere, trustworthy and hard working nurse who is great at what she does. The ancillary team are AMAZING!!!!! I want to give a shout out to Coach Cornell, Ms. Blackwell, Mrs. Simmons, annnnd MR. Makoge for all the hard work and dedication they pour out! They made my day enjoyable ALL THROUGHOUT THE DAY! Ms. A in PALS class for having the ideal model classroom setup showing education in motion. There are so many things I can talk about, but most people forget those small things that really matters. I am thankful for the journey I experienced at Grissom. They always will be my Grissom family.
