"A lovely, walkable and historic neighborhood. I relocated from Brooklyn, NY 4+ years ago and I’m happy to have made the move. Located in the Center City Business District, the neighborhood is very keen to maintain its historic identity while being open to forward thinking growth. Plus, the neighborhood is home to some of the best restaurants in Philly in addition performing arts theaters and movie houses."

"I've lived in Old City for 13 years and love it. It's much quieter than many places in the city. And now we have some really awesome new places: Riverwards Produce Market, Tuna Bar seafood restaurant, Old City Hardware, and more! It's a great place to live. "

"Historic and always well maintained. It has high quality small shops and some great go to restaurants. There are many tourists but you usually see familiar faces. If it wasn’t so expensive and the public schools in the zone were better, I would love to live here for good. It’s centrally so easy to get to other nice neighborhoods. "
  • Kelly T.
"Very dog friendly neighborhood with lots of options for parks. Biggest downside is keeping a constant and VERY close eye on what your dog is sniffing on the streets. "
  • Tuyen T.
"Nice, charming neighborhood with local eats, art galleries and boutiques. Parks and sidewalks are well maintained."
  • Jamie P.
"I don’t have children so my opinion may be lacking but the neighborhood seems safe as long as you avoid the northern section of 5th and Callowhill as there’s a section of homeless encampments there. "
  • Pat317ny
"Quick walk to either MFL or the buses on Market Street- easy to get around. Lots of Ubers too if you’re in a big hurry"
  • Laura P.
"Old City is one of the most romantic and charming neighborhoods in Philadelphia! Galleries spill open for First Friday, the piers on the waterfront are bustling with yoga, activities and markets in the summertime, and fine art + theater art abounds, as do Indie film showings. It’s the cobblestone heart of historic Philadelphia, rich with culture, museums, the regular colonial actor encounter, and some delicious restaurants. It’s downfall: not the best in terms of gyms of grocery stores! "
  • Reneedonahue94

"This neighborhood isn’t so much for family’s, but pre-families. Newlyweds and first time home buyers. Pet friendly is an understatement. There are definitely more puppy’s than babies roaming the streets. Lots of amenities, close to transportation, rail and bus. Very safe. "
  • Gina G. P.
