"Charming location, been here over 15 years, great school district and only 30 min to midtown with LIRR. Property tax is low comparing to outside of NYC areas. "

"A super simple 28 minute commute from the LIRR to Penn. Also, Douglaston is convenient to all bridges, parkways and the LIE!"

"Safe, friendly, quiet streets except for dog walkers, the occasional couples walking with a stroller, or a few teens trolling around. It’s a beautiful place to live, getting more ethnically and racially diverse over the years, which we find a real plus!"

"Right on the border if Nassau county but also near trains and buses that will enable you to get from queens to manhattan in 30 minutes. "

"We have been in Douglaston for almost 2 years and love the house and the area but there is very little community in our immediate area so it’s abit lonely in terms of interacting with neighbors but its safe, peaceful and quite"

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageNYC public school with 250 students ! How better does it get. Of course you can pay $10k for a local catholic school or maybe $50k to send your child to Buckley Day School, similar class size, maybe you your child won’t get to ride a horse during school time but hey pay for those lessons separately, same level of education and save yourself $45k!Parent Review2y ago - Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStandard of academics seems above average.so no concerns there. My only gripe with this school is the way they managed the use of racial slurs like the N word. Some teachers would simply tell kids to not say that and not enforce any real consequence. There are people of color using the slurs also and the teachers have no real way of managing this. Bullying seems to be better handled. When you have a school with approximately a quarter Black/Brown but has all white staff, the response from teachers will not reflect the needs of the population.Other Review10mo ago - Divine Wisdom Catholic Academy
