"It is a nice area. It has a church, but the buses go up and down. They are stealing tires and cars and nothing is being done about it. "

"I would describe the commute as simple and without aggravation. There are normal congestion times around rush hour, but it is never unbearable. "

"Unique neighborhood in NYC hidden gym in the Bronx safe and family oriented right on the water across from 3 million dollar houses where you get the same house for a fraction of the price in comparison, one of the last hidden great neighborhoods of nyc, restaurants entertainment close by along with quiet safe environment 20 min in non rush hour times to the city to enjoy anything the city has to offer."

"I have a dog, a small 2 year old Yorkie. The neighborhood is fairly safe for dogs, but, there is a lot of glass on the ground. There is also some form of toxic substance in the grass that makes my dogs mouth foam. "

"What I don’t particularly like is that some homeowners stand in front of their house door and watch you the ENTIRE time you’re walking your dog as if they believe you won’t pick up after yourself which is the furthest from the truth as I always pick up after my dog. Other than that it’s a dog friendly neighborhood. "

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would like to start off by saying if you are a person of color do not send her child here. Complete waste of money & time. My 5 year old child was denied food at lunch. Students must pay for lunch each day or sent with food from home. She was sent with money to purchase food , when she went up to buy her lunch she was told she needed to pay a balance and would only have enough a bag of chips. I escalated this matter to the lunch company and the administration, I was it was “ handled “ when I asked how they gave another apology and said it wouldn’t happen again. I received little to no communication about my child’s academics throughout the school year until I requested a parent meeting because I noticed she was making very little progress and I did not hear any concerns from the teacher. The academics are way below district , at least for elementary school. The focus is fun & sounding out letter for the entirety of the kindergarten school year. The school community and environment is not inclusive at all , there is no mention of Black History Month, when my child asked her teacher the response she was given was “ you can celebrate at home “. This place is not designed for people of color and they make that known and felt. I would not recommend this school to anyone and looking into further action.Parent Review9mo ago61 Reviews - St Frances De Chantal School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOne of the worst schools. Kids are not being taught what they need to know in very common subjects. The school has no resources for the kids to grow and learn. Very poor and little stem learning and activities for the kids. Very disappointing of this school.Parent Review1y ago11 Reviews - St Benedict School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is very unprofessional. The parent coordinator is very rude. The parent coordinator hasn’t responded to my emails or my phone calls. When I did call the parent coordinator. She hung up on me very abruptly and would not let me speak at all when I try to call back to talk to the principal the secretary did not answer my phone call. This has been going on for over a week. My kids do not like it there. I do not like the parent coordinator, not being able to do her job. I do not like the principal not calling me back and no responses to my emails. If school doesn’t help the parents be involved then what kind of involvement should a parent have with Their children’s academics?Parent Review11mo ago5 Reviews
