Wanaque-Midvale

I attended this school when I was in kindergarten through 6th grade, and man of my old teachers are still working there. I can honestly say these are the best teachers I know. They love their jobs and their students. However, the school itself is the "less favored child" of the district. They have SmartBoards and an elevator but faulty AC and a minimal music program. It's not the best school if your child is very advanced for their grade, but the teacher quality can't be beat. I only had one bad teacher there, quite an accomplishment for the school considering that I had 20 plus instructors and I was not easy to teach.

This is one of the Best schools in New Jersey hands down

Curriculum is challenging enough; my daughter is learning a lot here but crazy regulations & policies are interfering. Very strict attendance policy - will mark your child truant if you do not send a note, email, and leave a voicemail..apparently one isn't good enough. Even with a doctor's note, they still mark absence as "unexcused." Poor communication & no organization. Bus schedules are out of whack and bus pick up times are before the sun rises. They seem a bit hard on 5 & 6 year olds. Not happy with senior staff members but teachers are good from what I can see.

This school is my children’s second home. They have made wonderful friends, have close relationships with their teachers and are learning in a safe, warm, inclusive environment. They are building a strong Jewish identity and learning about their heritage. I highly recommend joining the GBDS family! You won’t regret it!!

The children are happy and the parents are wonderful! The family atmosphere of our school stretches beyond the schoolgrounds into the community. Teaching at St. Francis is a dream come true!
