Hawthorne, NJ: cozy, walkable suburb with big parks, easy train commutes, and small-town ease. People love Goffle Brook Park, dog-friendly sidewalks, safety, and the easy train to NYC. Fewer dining options, mixed schools, limited highways, and edges near Paterson feel uneasy.

"Paterson is across the street. It’s not a good “unique” thing, it’s horrible. There’s always people coming off the train a block away and walking into Paterson. Not the safest area for kids to play outside, can’t wait to move."

"Quiet neighborhoods, plenty of side streets with no traffic at all. Everyone is a responsible pet owner and cleans up after their pets, I’ve never run into anyone who hasn’t had their dog leashed."
  • Aleks Lorenz
"Park & woods. School system is by far not the greatest. Town life is very quiet, feels like it’s only starting to resurrect. Rent pricing is okay for the area. Mostly an Italian neighborhood. Not too many attractions or restaurants. One of the few conveniences is a train that is pretty easily accessible from any part of the town. "
  • Steve L.
"Access to Train station to commute directly into Manhattan. Nice small town feeling. A good mixed group of people from all walks of life. "
