"I lived here for four years. The landlord was horrible constantly asking for money and saying I never paid a security deposit even though I had receipts they also took said deposit and never put it in a savings account to accrue interest. They also told me I had to pay water but never settled the previous tenants bill. It was a constant battle always entering my home without permission and accusing me of damage done previously (I took pictures when I moved in) I wouldn’t rent from those people in Portsmouth again if you paid me. Good luck future tenants. "

"People mind their business here. They are working class people here. Great food places nearby and overall a feeling of freedom and safety "
  • Christ
"Many 55+ communities. These will be in the minority soon as every piece of land is being developed with cramped townhomes with basement apartments"
  • Christ
"I live in one of the many 55+ active adult communities. Surrounding us, however is an onslaught of building targeted for young Jewish families - hundreds of them. You walk outside of our community and you’d hardly recognize it. "
  • Christ
"Lots of dog in this 55+ community. Dog walkers are a tremendous asset to all communities.. they provide lots of “eyes” and encourage interaction with neighbors"
  • Trulia User
"There used to be a predominance of 55+ communities. But now all of the trees are being taken down for townhouses. These house a lot of children"
  • Yara Hodgson
"Traffic is horrendous. The population and housing has outgrown the town infrastructure by leaps and bounds and it is not being updated or maintained adequately. "
  • Trulia User
"Just moved in, hoping to enjoy the stay…..love waking up each morning to see the lakes outside our window….the quiet is also a most attractive selling point.the neighbors are most friendly also. "
  • Trulia User
"This is a 55 and older community so the only children that you will ever see here are only visiting the residents because anyone 19 years of age and under are not allowed to live here but can visit. "
  • Trulia User
"All of the dogs that I see are leashed! I have not seen any unleashed dogs on the grounds of Leisure Village. I often see the owners picking up after their dogs also."

"There’s too many residents living in lakewood and not enough space. The traffic is horrendous because of how many people live here and the streets and sidewalks are smaller. Not a bad located just overpopulated. "
