Staff seems to be so overworked or unhappy at this school. However, this should not be clear to the parents and students. My son’s first grade teacher (at Lindley) failed my child when it came to his academic success and support. Since I have transferred his school, his new teacher has been updating on much improvement. Sadly, it took me transferring for this to occur. Good luck with this school.

Teachers get frustrated with my autistic daughter. It shows every morning at 7:20am. They walk right by her as if she doesn’t need assistance getting to class. She learned how to pinch last year. Her teacher last year said he wouldn’t be able to assist my daughter this year. But peck elementary school still teamed him up with her. If he doesn’t want to work with my daughter, that is a hand full.. why put her back with someone that wants nothing to do with her? She has two new teachers this year reached out to them both on dojo.. No response! I see them everyday at school, early in the morning.. car rider line…I’m leaving a review because no responses in dojo!I don’t not recommend this school to anyone with autism. I checked her out on Monday. They ladies in the office had the phone on speaker phone. My kid special ad teacher answered being very s sarcastic “Ohhhh REALLY” then started to laugh with the office chicks. A joke wasn’t said! That’s the funny part about it!

To any educators considering a position here: please proceed with extreme caution. The principal is characterized by a profound lack of respect and professional courtesy toward staff, even basic common decency is lacking. Beyond the condescending communication style of the principal, there is a systemic failure to address critical issues, including teacher safety and reports of physical violence- having a history of blaming a teacher after they were harmed by a student. Despite public messaging about kindness, the internal reality is an environment where staff feel disregarded and unsafe. As both an educator and a parent, I could not recommend this school for anyone.

The teachers are the reason this school still functions as well as it does. Many are exceptional, but they are working under leadership that consistently undermines the very people holding the school together. The atmosphere feels tense, communication though sparse and often last minute lacks respect, and talented staff continue to walk away. When experienced, beloved teachers keep leaving, leadership is the common denominator. This school has enormous potential, but potential means very little when poor administration keeps driving good people out.

B’nai Shalom is an absolute blessing for my family. My wife and I moved here from Athens, GA and bounced around a couple of different day cares, and were left feeling that a piece was missing from each place. When we found out Greensboro had a Jewish Day School from ages 3 months – 8th grade, and knowing we had our second child on the way, we wanted to inquire about enrolling our children together. We were met by Eva, now Head of School – then Director of Admissions, who gave us a tour and gave a very warm welcome and introduction to the school. Knowing our son has proprioceptive input differences, we were so pleased to see the movement room and staffing that is able to help those like my son. Since then, we have built an amazing community with staff, parents, and students, and have grown our Jewish identity both in the home and in the classroom. Knowing my children are not in a simple day care but an actual school environment really stands out remarkably from other places we have previously been enrolled. My 4 year old and 2 year old are constantly singing songs in Hebrew and telling tales about their friends/teachers and adventures had during the day, and I could not imagine a better place for my kids to be. The teachers are so warm and welcoming and post pictures throughout the day that helps remind me that they are in good hands. Family Shabbat is a huge highlight, and each month we all gather together to welcome Shabbat, sing, and eat Challah! B’nai is a welcoming place for all, and we are so grateful to be part of the school.
