5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageExcellent experience from K through 5th grade. The building was still the original from the early sixties, but the engagement of the teachers and the outstanding principal Dr.Bergman( who greeted every morning all kids by their name, all 600 plus of them!), made up plenty for the deficits in the building. This school building is currently under reconstruction and promises to emerge better suited for it's pupils in the near future. The school's teachers established discipline, guided the dress code, corrected interruptive behaviour. Outstanding teachers were Mrs Francisco in reading and grammar, Mr. B in math, and the teacher for the academically gifted, Mr.Harmon.Parent Review2y ago13 Reviews - Hunter Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageStaff seems to be so overworked or unhappy at this school. However, this should not be clear to the parents and students. My son’s first grade teacher (at Lindley) failed my child when it came to his academic success and support. Since I have transferred his school, his new teacher has been updating on much improvement. Sadly, it took me transferring for this to occur. Good luck with this school.Parent Review1mo ago16 Reviews - Clara J Peck Elementary School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageTo any educators considering a position here: please proceed with extreme caution. The principal is characterized by a profound lack of respect and professional courtesy toward staff, even basic common decency is lacking. Beyond the condescending communication style of the principal, there is a systemic failure to address critical issues, including teacher safety and reports of physical violence- having a history of blaming a teacher after they were harmed by a student. Despite public messaging about kindness, the internal reality is an environment where staff feel disregarded and unsafe. As both an educator and a parent, I could not recommend this school for anyone.Other Review1mo ago24 Reviews - Our Lady Of Grace Catholic School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur school benefits from a truly special parent community and an incredibly dedicated PTA. The support network among families is strong, and the teachers are committed and caring. However, the administration has become a significant source of concern. The principal is frequently unavailable and often unresponsive to parent communication, with concerns sometimes going unanswered for weeks. There is a noticeable lack of consistent presence on campus, and decisions are often communicated one way and then executed differently, leading to confusion and mistrust.Oversight from the parish leadership is minimal, as the priest who oversees the school is rarely engaged in daily operations. This absence of active, accountable leadership has created an environment where teachers, though capable and passionate, appear hesitant to speak up or challenge the status quo.As a result, we’ve seen a troubling pattern of strong educators leaving, with their roles often filled by parents lacking formal teaching qualifications. This is not only unfair to students but also undermines the standards we expect from a school committed to excellence. We hope this feedback is taken seriously, as the heart of the school—its teachers, students, and families—deserve leadership that matches their dedication.Parent Review11mo ago18 Reviews - B'nai Shalom Day School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageB’nai Shalom is an absolute blessing for my family. My wife and I moved here from Athens, GA and bounced around a couple of different day cares, and were left feeling that a piece was missing from each place. When we found out Greensboro had a Jewish Day School from ages 3 months – 8th grade, and knowing we had our second child on the way, we wanted to inquire about enrolling our children together. We were met by Eva, now Head of School – then Director of Admissions, who gave us a tour and gave a very warm welcome and introduction to the school. Knowing our son has proprioceptive input differences, we were so pleased to see the movement room and staffing that is able to help those like my son. Since then, we have built an amazing community with staff, parents, and students, and have grown our Jewish identity both in the home and in the classroom. Knowing my children are not in a simple day care but an actual school environment really stands out remarkably from other places we have previously been enrolled. My 4 year old and 2 year old are constantly singing songs in Hebrew and telling tales about their friends/teachers and adventures had during the day, and I could not imagine a better place for my kids to be. The teachers are so warm and welcoming and post pictures throughout the day that helps remind me that they are in good hands. Family Shabbat is a huge highlight, and each month we all gather together to welcome Shabbat, sing, and eat Challah! B’nai is a welcoming place for all, and we are so grateful to be part of the school.Parent Review1y ago20 Reviews
