Read what parents are saying about B'nai Shalom Day SchoolI'm so grateful for B'nai Shalom; a gem in the Greensboro community. My child has grown SO much much in her time at B'nai due to the thoughtfulness, creativity, and nurturing environment she is in each day. Parents and staff partner together beautifully, and I've found teachers always have gone above and beyond to meet a child's needs. I feel grateful for this community, and for the ability to watch my child flourish in it!
Posted by a parent on 11/29/2022As a teacher at B'nai, I feel like I actually get to TEACH. Our curriculum is the perfect mix of rigor AND individualization, so I am able to meet all of my students where they are to help them grow. There is flexibility to supplement the content based on my students' interests, and there are opportunities for hands-on applications of the concepts. Administration is very supportive and I feel like I am given the space and trust to make the best decisions I can for my classroom. The B'nai Shalom community--faculty and parents--work together as a team to create a nurturing environment in order to help each child become independent learners and critical thinkers.
Posted by a teacher on 11/29/2022My family moved to town without knowing anyone in the middle of the pandemic. We feel so lucky that we found B’nai Shalom and that we became part of that community during what was otherwise an isolating time. Academically, I know my children are receiving an excellent education in both general and Judaic studies. But even more importantly I know my children are safe, loved, and appreciated for who they are every day in school. I love how the students from across different grades know each other—it creates a warm, family environment. The teachers and staff truly care about the children and the school. They go above and beyond to support their students academically, socially, and emotionally. It feels like we found a hidden gem in Greensboro!
Posted by a parent on 11/29/2022This is my 9th year at at B'nai Shalom Day School and I love this community. As a parent, I understand the courage it takes to pour all of your love into your own tiny human and then to have to turn them over the world with the hope that the world will be gentle and kind. I continue to work at B'nai because I believe that this kind of gentleness and kindness exists here and I feel lucky to be a part of it. As a teacher, there are children at this school that I taught as 2 year olds I still teach as 10 year olds and to me that really means something. To have the privilege of watching these children grow from infants to 8th graders, all under one roof, keeps me coming back year after year. Life isn't always about what you pour into it, but I feel like it is here. You pour love in and you get love out. You pour effort in and you get success out.
Posted by a parent on 11/29/2022B’nai Shalom has been the most wonderful community to have had my kids at. Not only have my children been here since infants but I am also an alumni. We are so grateful for the loving caring environment and know our kids are in the best place!

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love this school! The community is so warm and involved in the school. Great teachers on staff who truly care about the kids. My daughter not only learns math and literacy, but also social and emotional maturity and kindness for others. The test scores do not say everything about a school environment.Parent Review1y ago - John Van Lindley Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur kids love this school. It is inclusive, diverse and has an incredible community of teachers and staff. There are over 50 countries represented giving a dynamic in every room with languages from around the world. With a high population of students who have labels of disabilities, the intent of every class is inclusion and support to meet the needs of each child. It has taught our children empathy, grace and patience. It also means that teachers are more apt to teach to the student, their individual abilities, etc. whether needing additional support or giving extensions for child exceeding the baseline.Parent Review3y ago - New Garden Friends School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe preschool program is terrible & the admin does not care! These things happened in just 8 days of my child being there. I was told by 3 different staff members that would be able to stay with my 3 year old on his first day & get him acclimated because he has some attachment & sensory issues. On the 1st day of school they would not let me come in and I had to hand my child off to the teacher & leave. I then got an email stating that no parents are allowed on the playground or inside the classroom at drop off or pick up! Teachers never greeted me when i arrived. I consistently saw all 4 teachers in one spot on the playground, talking to each other, not supervising or playing with kids. When I asked about my son's day, they replied with only negative things or general statements like "it was a good day". When they told us that hand foot & mouth was going around the class, I asked how do they go about washing the toys with soap & water and disinfecting them, admin told me their teachers dont wash their toys because they dont have time. I finally see my child's classroom & its disgusting. Grime, food & dirt on toys, chairs, tables, & surfaces. Hazardous chemicals are kept where children can reach them. The teacher said my son had trouble opening his lunch & spilled it all on the floor. Said they dont have extra food for children so, he didnt eat lunch that day. He was STARVING when I picked up. My son had a big scrape on his knee that bled. I asked about it & he said he fell on the sidewalk. I asked the teacher & she said "I don't know". Didnt ask the 3 other teachers who were on the playground if they saw anything, just "I don't know, he didnt cry, so i dont know". Kids spend the whole day outside where they play by themselves & teachers socialize with eachother. They took my 3yr old on a bus, a mile away from campus & did not tell me! I went to admin with my concerns & they made excuses for each issue & offered no resolution & showed no interest in investigating. I emailed the head of school, told her I was taking my child out (yes and lose $12,100) & told her why I was leaving. I did not get an email back. I left her messages on the phone, no call back. Ive been a pre-k teacher for 18 yrs & this is one of the worst programs Ive seen. The staff put on a facade that they are a great school where kids can thrive and grow but they are not! If you currently have your child here, please ask more questions & pay close attention, you will easily see for yourself!Parent Review7mo ago - Our Lady Of Grace Catholic School
