"Short. It is about a 10 minute drive to my office which I make about 3-4 days a week. I feel that walking to shops and stores is easy and safe"

"There are parks EVERYWHERE. You don’t need anything in your yard because the parks have it. Daycare is expensive in this neighborhood. It feels really safe and there are a lot of young families in the area."

"20-25 min to Downtown Minneapolis on most days. Can vary as low as 15 and as many as 60 min however, weather dependent."

"I live on this side of town for family and ecosphere. Have a 30 min commute to East St Paul. It sucks in bad weather. "

"The neighborhood is full of children and it’s a great place for children to live! I recommend it to all. The elementary school is just blocks away, the creek, parks and great small retail nodes are great!"

"We have lived here 8 years. The proximity to 50th and France allows us to park the cars and walk to Lund’s, restaurants, shops, etc. The proximity to Lake Harriet makes for a wonderful bike ride. The neighbors are the BEST. Great mix of ages, families, interests, etc. Simply the best street in Fulton, IMHO!!"

"I've lived in the area for 25 years. It's quiet (separated from busy streets; not under a flight path) but accessible to a wide variety of restaurants and a wine bar as well as bus routes. Excellent for walking; good schools; safe area. Like the best spot in Minneapolis!"

"Well maintained houses of widely varied values and people. Perfect area to raise kids or not. Walk, blade, bike or bus to anything and everything. Four miles, door-to-door, around Lake Harriet, six miles adding Lake Calhoun, 8 miles adding Lake of the Isles and 10 miles adding Cedar Lake among the beautiful Minneapolis chain of lakes."

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCarondelet Elementary School is a wonderful, welcoming place for children. The teachers are firm yet loving, creating an environment where students feel supported and safe. They are highly organized, with consistent routines that help children thrive. Our child particularly loves math, and the school makes it fun by using different learning methods and memorization techniques. The specialty classes are fantastic; choir class is a favorite, and the art teacher creatively combines lessons about ancient art techniques with stories about influential historical artists. The school is very focused on safety, with strong systems and protocols in place to ensure children are well-protected. Parents are actively involved, and there’s a warm, friendly community spirit. Carondelet offers various engaging activities, such as indoor sports and the zoo program. It’s also a magnet school for Groves reading, which is excellent. We appreciate the Quiet Room, where students can take tests in a more peaceful environment. Communication from teachers is excellent, with regular updates for parents, and we find the homework both helpful and appropriate for our child’s learning level. The classroom has only 15 students, compared to 30 at the previous school, allowing for more individualized attention. The school is very community-oriented, encouraging students to give back, like when they recently sang, read stories, and made art for veterans. We wish we had switched to Carondelet sooner! It’s affordable, well-organized, and has been an ideal fit for our family. Most importantly, we truly feel that every staff member genuinely cares about you, your children, and your family.Parent Review1y ago19 Reviews
