"Block parties and festivals in the summer. Many restaurants and pubs to visit and explore. A ton of venues in Chicago to have fun at. The neighborhoods have changed. I enjoyed the old Randolph street. That area has really changed. Very busy now and growing."

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: friendly and small school community, nice family events throughout the year, committed teachers, great parent community Cons: declining quality in past 5-10 years, admin (one) generally resistant to parent feedbackThere's a very inconsistent student experience from teacher to teacher. My kids experienced multiple teachers at the school. No longer a strong vision for taking the school to the next level. Unfortunately not all admins treat parents with respect or as partners in education. There are also some fairly inequitable fundraising practices. Kind people at the school, but learning quality has declined in recent years. Parents don't receive much support when approaching admin with problems (at least one admin is fairly arrogant). At one time, the school ensured solid teaching for all learners. No longer the case.Other Review2y ago17 Reviews - Otis Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe love it at Suder. There is always room for improvement and no school is perfect but this school has been great for us. The administration is responsive and works a great deal to create an inclusive and engaging community for families and kids. The Montessori education is unique in that kids have uninterrupted work blocks where they are not receiving specific instruction and get to choose what they work on and learn. We love it at Suder and will be here with all 3 of our children!Parent Review11mo ago34 Reviews - St. Malachy School

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBennett’s administration frequently failed to communicate effectively. They neglected to inform us when initial problems with our son began, leaving us unaware until situations escalated. School leaned into the behavior concerns and did not see the connection between behavior and academic challenges. In one instance, she called to discuss my son's challenges while he was in the room, ignoring the privacy and sensitivity of the matter.School recommended we have our son tested, because they did not know what more they could do and ‘maybe’ medication was an option. So, yes we had our son tested and learned he has an IQ is in the gifted range and a reading disability. He is a 3rd graders with 1st grade reading skills. Thanks to CPS, he has access to a special education teacher, and in-class support to ensure he can fully participate. Bennet is a great option if your kid does not need support. If you kid needs help, school administration becomes passive aggressive till you leave.Parent Review2y ago18 Reviews
