"As a long-time resident who raised a family here we found this to be an exceptionally friendly, diverse and welcoming neighborhood. Neighbors support each other and the local businesses. They care about the community and have events such as a clean and green day. There are many long-time residents as well as newer families, and renters."
  • Clyde K.
"Many residents greet each other and are very neighborly. There aren’t any community events. There is a pool and a soccer field. "
  • Skbeardsley
"There are many families in the neighborhood. Many do not use the local school but there are other options around. The local parks especially Livingston are nice for kids."
  • Ben D
"Commute to west suburbs is ideal due to proximity of 290. Short walk to Western blue line stop. There are some buses nearby as well but I don’t use them. "
  • Arham N.
"There are often times homeless people around as well as unkempt weeds protruding from the sidewalks "
  • Valerie H.
"I love this area as you are close to everything. If I don’t want to drive, I am close to transportation. If I am sick, I have three hospitals in the area I can go to. Plenty of restaurants only Taylor street and Madison is close so you can dine along there."
  • Kiblitzer
"There are many dog owners in the are, sufficient areas to stop, and people are fairly consistent in cleaning up after them. "
  • Christopher A.
"There are quite a bit of people who hang out on the street talking and gathered. Some are homeless and others are just using the sidewalks as meeting spaces. Just be aware and use common sense. "
  • Callen S.
"I have lived her for a year. My street in particular is nice and family oriented however the neighborhood is definitely up and coming. "

"Quiet urban neighborhood, socially and ethnically 'diverse'(mostly European, Hispanic), medium to high incomes; continued building of well-designed town-houses on remaining vacant lots; greatly improved amenities, landscaping, etc. on Western Avenue (to the west)."
