"The neighborhood isn't as bad as some Chicago neighborhoods, but gangs, drugs, graffiti and occasional shootings started appearing about 20 years ago when the demographics of the neighborhood began to change."

"This is a great neighborhood for families or retirees! Close to everything. Midway Orange Line walking distance. Grocery stores and every other kind of store/restaurant within walking distance! "

"I was born and raised in this area, and the family home of 42 years was sold in 2007. There was a time when this part of the city was a great place to live and raise a family. Now the traffic is just awful and crime has gone way up because of the eliment moving into the area. I'm glad I got out when I did. "

They moved into the neighborhood and went from a caring, small public school with lots of thinking and creative solutions to this small punitive, not-following-through, slap on the wrist kind of experience.
