My child went to Rio Calaveras up until they were in 5th grade, and let me tell you this... It was HORRIBLE! There were multiple staff members or yard duties as they call it calling my kid names and making fun of them, and least to say, my kid's behavior completely changed to fun and lively to now sad and nonchalant. And teachers saw that the behavior changed, and they did nothing about it! They just made my kid sign a paper that asked if they were depressed and of course my kid signed yes to it, and after that nothing happened! They just shot me a message about it on the app the school required us to download so we can message the teachers and that tiny little message said, "Your kid is depressed, we'll try and make some new adjustments at school and move them into a different class", but guess what happened... NOTHING!!! My kid kept on getting harassed by the same staff members and now even the students and the school didn't do anything! Rio Calaveras is a bad school for kids with bad staff! I do NOT recommend going here.

I was reading the comments and it’s true, if you’re kids goes here they will have a higher chance of getting into a fight and the school won’t do a thing about it. I would not recommend

Great clean school, with plenty of friendly staff and they always have parking.

Que tristeza lo que hacen con los niños de educación especial, el departamento de educación especial se negó a darme opciones para resolver mi problema de ubicación de la escuela, mi impusieron una escuela que no le corresponde a mi hija y me dijeron que no tengo otra opción. Donde están los derechos de los padres?…. Casualmente todas las madres que asistiremos al departamento de educación especial con el mismo problema somos latinas. Hay un problema muy grave de discriminación racial en ese departamento. Si eso hacen con nosotros que no harán con nuestros hijos que no pueden defenderse.

In my experience, this school does not provide a safe or stable environment for developing children. Students receive very little homework, and many staff members do not appear to have full teaching credentials, which leads to high turnover and low morale.I’ve also noticed a concerning level of student violence and bullying, especially toward children who may be outside the majority demographic. There seems to be little focus on social-emotional development, and in some cases, students who defend themselves from bullying are also punished. If you're an active and concerned parent they will label you as difficult. My child does not want to return next year due to everything stated here/Based on my experience, I would advise others to be cautious.
