5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI cannot say enough wonderful things about this school and the direction it’s headed under the leadership of the new principal and vice principal. The difference is already noticeable — they are incredibly hands-on, approachable, and deeply invested in both the success and well-being of every student. You can feel the positive energy the moment you walk on campus. The principal and vice principal are not just tucked away in their offices — they’re out greeting students, engaging with parents, and working directly with staff. It’s clear they’re here for the right reasons and want to make a lasting difference. One of the biggest improvements I’ve seen is in their approach to communication and accountability — especially when it comes to bullying, support services, and follow-through. They’re organized, responsive, and take time to explain things clearly. That alone has been a huge relief for families like mine. But what I appreciate most is how much they focus on what truly matters: the success and confidence of each child. My child feels supported, encouraged, and excited to go to school — and as a parent, that means everything. This school is clearly on the rise, and I feel incredibly grateful to be part of this community during such a positive and uplifting time. Kudos to the entire team — your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed!Parent Review9mo ago7 Reviews - Nishimoto Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOk the whole pick up system they have is great. I think my kids teachers are great. But the only big thing I disagree is their lack of anti bullying. I disagree with the principal's way of handling it trying to encourage kids with an award. Kids that are being abused at home, which most of the time they are the bullies, don't care or even understand this reward, When they are not being awarded at home. there is no prevention. My kids have seen kids pick fights. Tease others, hitting, punching others. my son and daughter are a victim of some of this. It upsets me that they won't take the steps to start a real program to make this school a safer and a better place for the children.Parent Review11y ago5 Reviews - Crossroads Christian

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSherman Thomas is a nice, small school with terrific teachers and staff. Everyone at Sherman Thomas pulls their own weight. Parents are encouraged to get involved with their children’s educational experience, but no pressure. This school offers caring emotional support for its students, and their families. The staff strive to see every child succeed. Since it is a smaller school, attention to detail in each child’s learning progress, is often pinpointed, and brought into awareness. At this school, learning is more than just scoring high on tests, it emphasizes the importance of kindness, respect, and overall good citizenship. My grandchildren enjoy Sherman Thomas. The sports, field trips, family involvement, and comfortable feel of the school, reinforce confidence in knowing that not all schools are created equal. Not many schools can boast of being less chaotic, and better equipped to assist trailing students. My hope is that Sherman Thomas Charter rises to the higher levels of achievement that are customary in the District.Parent Review8mo ago10 Reviews - Ezequiel Tafoya Alvarado Academy
