"This is a very dog friendly neighborhood. There’s plenty of things for your hairy friends to sniff and the area is pleasant for the two leggeds as well. Safe neighborhood, pretty homes and yards, tree lined streets, people that pass say “hello”. Down sides- no dogs on the beaches 👎Dog parks are ugly, dusty and I’ve seen more than one dog need stitches when the play went south."

"In the midst of a huge urban area, Alameda is a top consideration for those who want access to the Bay Area's best of everything in a town that has a strong community sense. The Gold Coast -- in the middle of the island and east of Central Ave -- is a wonderful, walkable neighborhood where people really take care of their property and many get to know their neighbors. A kind of a hidden gem. "

We opted to move out of our home school for several reasons, including low average test scores and large school population. Franklin has been a fantastic fit for our son, now a third grader. The teachers in earlier grades were not the best, in our opinion, but so second and third grade experience have been fantastic. The teachers are very caring, the staff is accessible, and the after school program is great. Our son has made many good friends, been academically challenged, and grown up surrounded by a vey supportive PTA community that provides for those school items outside of the traditional school budget. We feel very fortunate that we are Franklin Falcons.
