My kids are thriving at Heights in the Spanish immersion program. My oldest attended Heights for 1st through 4th grade. We moved her to Heights from a private school that was not meeting our expectations. My youngest is in kindergarten at Heights. The staff, teachers and administration at Heights seem to truly care about and know the students, and my kids have loved all of their teachers. I value the school's emphasis not only on academics, but on social development as well. Heights really does feel like a small and warm community, and the PTO is extremely organized, active, and welcoming. We would highly recommend this school.

The incompetence of the school is the reason I'm writing this complaint. The principal treats and talks down to parents as if they are students themselves. Unprofessional staff and teachers. Don't take accountability and will accuse you of being incompetent where they failed my child. The principal stated we are not certified babysitters yet everyday they keep my kid in the office and will not look into other option til it's too late. This district is racist and will not tolerate black or brown students if they have say ADD or ADHD. If you want your student to fail and be bullied by staff and teachers this is the school for you .

Review of Tavan Elementary SchoolI want to share my experience with Tavan Elementary School, which is often regarded as one of the top public schools in Arizona. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Despite high expectations, the support for students was severely lacking. My son faced unhelpful and even aggressive behavior from the principal, and the assistant principal’s response was often limited to issuing suspensions rather than providing genuine support. The social worker, who should have been a source of help, instead contributed to the issue by not engaging effectively and simply escorting him to the office.In contrast, after we withdrew him and enrolled him in a new school, the difference was night and day. He is thriving, and the environment is supportive, friendly, and understanding. There have been no issues, and he is flourishing academically and socially. This contrast highlights how vital proper support and communication are for students.In summary, while Tavan Elementary may have a good reputation, our experience shows that there are significant areas for improvement in how they support and treat their students.
