Posted by a community member on 8/2/2023Kindergarten class size is currently 36 students. Changed dismissal plan without contacting parent. Kids struggling with new environment but ridiculed by teacher and embarrassed. Assistant principal discussed siblings behavior with other child before parent.
Posted by a community member on 8/12/2016This school is very average. Some staff are responsible and caring. The school grounds are very filthy. The art teacher is Very short tempered and screams in students faces. Also, the bathrooms are filthy and in need of soap. The softball, girls' basketball, and volleyball teams are amazing! Nevertheless, the school is need of a fresh face.Like Papago School located in Phx, AZ.
Posted by a parent on 5/23/2014My son has been at Kennedy since Kindergarten - he is now in 7th grade. I would not want him to go to any other school. My husband and I love having him at Kennedy. Other than his 3rd grade teacher - who is no longer there - we have loved the communication his teachers have given us. This year I really appreciate the emails and communications his teachers send me with any questions or concerns. We are also extremely happy with the addition of the new Principal this year.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWent out of their way to sudgest a needed reading class last year in first grade now she is reading like a pro. All the faculty and staff have been great at reaching out to my daughter to make sure she has every thing she needs to be successful. For a moment I thought my daughter my need special education but not at Montevista. They scooped up my daughter and helped her reach her potential. Montevista is a great school.Parent Review2y ago - William T Machan Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageCompletely horrible school, I am so frustrated with how this school condones to bullying and how they have favoritism and will let certain things slide. I would not send my children here.Parent Review2y ago - Christ Lutheran School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to this school some time ago for 6th grade and half of 7th. I'm sad to see a lot of reviewers still mentioning the same problems today, particularly the bullying and busy-work. This place fostered a lot of cliquey behavior, not only among students, but among parents & teachers too. My mom was used to being very involved in my schooling up to that point. She'd always volunteered for bake sales and chaperone opportunities and had always gotten to know my teachers. At CLS she found herself completely shut out.For me, it was worse. All of the friend groups seemed to have formed by kindergarten, and this made entering the school for 6th grade a mistake. The girls were cruel, neurodivergent kids were treated like dirt, and there was very little diversity. The teachers mostly just seemed to be going through the motions, loading us with hours of homework. I'd gone from the gifted program at my prior school to backsliding at CLS. I didn't catch up until I returned to public school mid-7th grade.I had only one teacher who seemed to actually care. The thing that ultimately drove me away was my mental health. My mom saw me rapidly deteriorate and when she offered me the chance to go back to public school, I leapt at it. Within a week back at public school, I was going to sleepovers with new friends... something that didn't happen in my whole time at CLS.This place was a rough turning point in my life. I would not recommend going there at all, but I particularly recommend against transferring your child there in the later grades.Other Review8mo ago
