4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe were worried that our teen, coming from a small private school, would have difficulties at such a large, diverse high school. Franklin High was the best choice we ever could have made. Our teen is getting more from the experience at Franklin than we ever dreamed. The kids are great, welcoming, tolerant, fun, and even polite to adults (I always appreciate that). The academics are challenging and prepare students well, as our teen's PSAT scores would attest. AP and honors classes make for lots of homework, but there is also plenty of fun happening too. Our teen is stronger, smarter, and happier because she goes to Franklin. There is not a bunch of privileged, entitled kids expecting everything to be handed to them, judging others who have less. It's a good place to be.Parent Review11y ago4 Reviews - Kimball Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter in her 5th year at Kimball has had stellar, experienced teachers each year at Kimball. She tested into HC and could have moved to Thurgood Marshall, but we have been so happy with her experience, teachers, Current Principal and the real world diversity of cultures and ethnicities, why would we move her?Other Review9y ago5 Reviews - Washington Middle School

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has only been at this school for one and a half months, but so far I am really happy. I've heard and read that the school had a number of challenging years in the past, but I am very happy with the community the new principal seems to be building. My child looks forward to going to school every day and says that the students and teachers are nice. She came in with friends already, but has made new friends quickly, too. She has told me about 1 or 2 pretty typical middle school behavioral incidents, and the response from the staff seemed quick and appropriate (not too harsh, but also not ignoring the matter). My child is ahead academically, so I wouldn't say that she's extremely challenged, but she is definitely learning and is enjoying what she's learning. I appreciate the communication from the principal and teachers, and the positive changes they have already made and plan to continue.Parent Review8mo ago14 Reviews - Check out schools near 3007 21st Ave S.

"Beacon Hill feels like a secret. I can walk down to the International District, ride my bike anywhere, drive in Seattle in 5 minutes or jump on the 90 and be in Bellevue in 15 minutes. The apartment sizes here are great too."

"Easy on light rail to downtown. Or biking as long as you don’t mind hills. I never ride the bus but it also seems convenient "

"Traffic has increased in the last few years. Cyclist friendly. It’s not so bad. There’s a little problem with the asian supermarkets on 12th ave that usually block one out of two lanes wich creates traffic when coming from downtown trough the Dr. Rizal Bridge. "

"Everyone is usually very kind. People smile at each other on the streets. There is a large population of Mexican and Somalian culture in the community which is wonderful to see. We have a little community garden where people can plant flowers and fruits and vegetables. "

"Seattle's best secret pocket, I've chose to live here in three different homes over the course of 30 years. A short bike or medium walk to downtown. A quiet, diverse, and un-hyped neighborhood. I travel often and I really appreciate that you can get to Sea-Tac in under 15min driving or 24min by light rail."

"This is a super quiet neighborhood which is right next to a beautiful park. In the summer you can feel free to walk into the I-90 trail and enjoy the Seattle Sun. In the winters and other seasons you still have access to the biking trails and amazing food at International district. "

"I've lived here for 2 years and have seen a lot of change in reference to new construction and more new families moving in. The urban village is community-centered and local! I hope it stays that way! Great parks!"

Lawnbowling next door...surrounded by Cheasty Greenspace ideal for bikers, runners. Elementary school within walking. Two lightrail stations within 5-15 min walking distance and two blocks from bus stops. I-5 access and I-90 access within minutes. Just south of downtown. 15 min to airport Seatac, 10 min to Boeing Field. "
