Read what parents are saying about Cleveland High SchoolI’m a senior this year and I think this school is absolutely amazing. Almost everyone is respectful and supportive at Cleveland and the teachers are great. I really felt like am in a community at school.
Posted by a student on 10/8/2020Great for academically motivated students, as well as students who have out-of-school struggles that make it hard to succeed academically. There is a huge emphasis on both academic rigor (hence the ever-increasing number of AP classes) and racial equity. Cleveland is consistently recognized for its focus and performance of racial equity and justice. Yet we also have had alumni attend Princeton, UChicago, Cornell, and Stanford after graduating.I've spent four years here and have gotten a stellar education from great teachers and a great administration. Throughout my time here my SAT improved from 1160 to 1530/1600, and I passed all five of my AP exams. I've had the opportunities to join different clubs and even starting my own. I've swum for the boy's swim team all four years and had a blast. I'm a graduating senior this year and I can look back and say that I am so glad I didn't end up going to Raisbeck Aviation High School or Garfield High School.Last two things I want to highlight:1. The teachers are phenomenal. The number of hours they dedicate to their students is inspiring. They have great lesson plans, great strategies to meet the needs of disadvantaged kids, but most importantly, they CARE about us. 2. This school has the best student community of any SPS. It's the most diverse school in the district and there's very little segregation. It's small for a public school (220 per class), so everyone knows each other. There are no cliques or gangs or mean girls--we all share a comradery. Your kid needs to go to Cleveland High School.
Posted by a student on 12/5/2019Cleveland is not a very good school to go to if you want to have a serious education. The materials and classes offer can be interesting but the learning environment is somewhat below average. Most of the students are not hardworking and some teachers just like to give easy assignments for students to do. The expectations are low and students will freak out about their abilities once they're in college.
Posted by a student on 8/22/2012Not the best school to go to for students who want to be challenged in class. There are no honors classes, and AP is only offered for juniors and seniors. Project-baselearnt ing, the STEM program, and extra high school credits initially draws you in, but the irresponsible and lazy students(the majority of freshman anyway) stress out the teens serious about school. For the first 3 months, most of what I learned was how to research, put info on a PowerPoint/ Prezi, and be a manager to my peers. It was very disappointing to figure out that this was basically what Cleveland was actually like(when most students aren't hardworking). Advice: Project based learning works best when students don't need to be constantly told to do their work. Transferring to a different high school next semester, A very frustrated 9th grader

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am a proud parent of a second grader at Dearborn as well as a teacher here! I’ve worked here for many years and love the warm and welcoming staff and families! Many teachers have their own children at our school which is a testament for the love we have for our school and community. Our dual language program has gotten stronger and stronger over the years, offering both Spanish and Mandarin. We have an excellent leader Dr. Jessica Conte with the amazing support of our AP Don Noble. We have a strong coach, social worker, and so many other staff members who create such a positive learning environment. Our performance dance program is also one of the best in the district and travels to perform in other schools’ assemblies! Go Dragons!Parent Review7mo ago - Hawthorne Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe are so glad to have found St. George! The community is warm and welcoming. The principal and staff did an amazing job adjusting to the pandemic right from the beginning. Their goal is always fostering the growth of the whole child including having compassion for others, setting high academic expectations and learning how to be a leader. We would recommend this school highly!!Parent Review2y ago - Torah Day School of Seattle
