What Locals Say about Adams

  • Hailey Rehnfeldt
"Not that great for long pretty walks in my opinion, plenty of car filled streets. Can be better walking areas somewhere else."

"So many sidewalks with different flowers and plants to sniff! I bring my dog on a different route every single day and he loves the neighborhood "

"Lots of dog walking in the neighborhood. Close proximity to off leash dog park near Golden Gardens. Sometimes people let their dogs off leash, not good."

"Great schools, parks, and bakeries. Easy access to downtown when you need it. Safe community without the cons of other neighborhoods (Cap Hill, West Seattle, Fremont). "

"Very easy to get to the highway, downtown, and any other neighborhood really. Public transit is easy to get to"

"Fairly safe neighborhood, but high density living. Parking is often a challenge and garbage pick up is intermittent where I live."

"Abysmal, I live in sunset hill and commute to my office in pioneer square. I used to take public transportation but the busses are extremely inconsistent and my commute time could be anywhere from 30 mins to 90 mins. The city has closed multiple bus stops in the neighborhood (pre-Covid) and the traffic pattern is super wacky. Pretty neighborhood though. "

"Magnolia isn't my neighborhood but I do live in Greenlake and I feel like these places both have the same feeling to them however Magnolia is closer to downtown."

"This neighborhood has an amazing vibe! I love the farmer's market here. Bus lines are conveniently located and it is only a 30 minute ride to Seattle downtown."

"It used to be a great neighborhood. Over the last 3 years it’s really gone down hill. Homeless people are everywhere, drug users and needles on the sidewalks. We used to love this place, lived in Ballard for 8 years, "

  • Monica K.
"Over run by homeless population living in tents - hypodermic needles, open drug use, scary mental illness - all in your own front yard. Walkability used to be amazing before we became too scared to walk anywhere. "

  • Ashley R.
"Plenty of other dog owners in the area with creates a great sense of community! Not much to dislike as a dog owner other than there aren’t any parks for them to play because homeless people live in the nearby parks. "

  • Logan N. B.
"people love their dogs here. a lot of dog friendly apartments, and dogs out walking, at any given time. "

"Take 40 to get to Southlake, and the commute is about 35 minutes roughly. Bus comes pretty often as well so that's clutch"

  • Taylor A. Crockett
"Make sure your kids understand how to deal with the mentally ill because for every person that buys up a home for a million dollars, there are people displaced in the area. The public areas are not all treated alike."

"I wouldn't say this neighborhood is unique... It's slowly getting overrun by townhouses (full disclose - I'm in one too) but that's just the way it is. It's super convenient for bussing though, and not a long walk to downtown Ballard. "

"I moved out of Cap hill because it was getting expensive, the commute is longer from Ballard to downtown, but if you like quiet streets close to some shops and hip stores this is pretty good neighborhood."
