4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI've had the privilege of teaching at FDR for the past 9 years and have experienced it undergo many positive changes since starting here. One of the most significant has been having Ms. Duffy, our school principal, join us 2 years ago. Ms. Duffy has been a wonderful addition to our school family. She leads the campus with kindness and intention while tangibly supporting students, staff, and families to help them be their best. Ms. Duffy has a strong sense of integrity and follow through and works hard to help students feel known. The students, families, and PTA at FDR are supportive, warm, and hard-working. I've learned a lot from FDR's many veteran teachers, as well as its newer teachers who offer fresh perspectives and enthusiasm. FDR is a very special, tight knit school and a real gem in the community. Over the course of my 18 year career in education, FDR has been my favorite school to work at!Teacher Review5mo ago5 Reviews - Terra Nova High School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am leaving this review with a heavy heart and a deep sense of outrage. The Terra Nova High School administration, under Principal Megan Carey and Vice Principal Steve Pofahl, has allegedly fostered a culture of negligence that has put students in harm's way. The public statements from the district's superintendent, prioritizing legal jargon and "setting the record straight" over student well-being, are deeply disappointing and insulting to the community. From what I have observed and heard from current and former students, the administration allegedly failed to act on numerous reports of inappropriate conduct by staff members. Multiple accounts detail students and parents bringing forward concerns about specific teachers, only to be met with inaction, canceled meetings, and a complete lack of follow-up. This is not an isolated incident; it appears to be a systemic problem.I have seen the pain of students who went to their counselors and trusted adults for help, only to be ignored. Their stories describe a school environment where students fear for their safety, and where their trust in the adults who are supposed to protect them has been completely shattered.Until the leadership is held accountable and a transparent, top-to-bottom overhaul is conducted, I do not believe Terra Nova High School is a safe place for students. It is a school that has allegedly failed to protect its most vulnerable population, and that failure has had devastating consequences.Parent Review7mo ago13 Reviews - Check out schools near 420 Magellan Ct.

"It’s very dog friendly and there’s many dogs in this town. There are the occasional fireworks, the most on 4th of July, that may be an issue for your dog. "

"Small town feeling + California coastal vibe + tech friendly leads to the best of all worlds. Pacificans have fought hard over the last 60 years to preserve open space and create a place that has breath taking panoramic views for generations to come. It’s a special place."

"There are a lot of beautiful ocean view dog friendly hikes and beaches. The streets are narrow though and it makes short walks challenging, especially on garbage days,"

"The Shoreview neighborhood is really unique because of its location (right by the ocean), the diversity and friendliness of the neighbors (everyone knows everyone) and the shape of the neighborhood that discourages non-residents from just driving through the neighborhood which allows kids to play out in the streets without concern."
