3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagethis school is TERRIBLE. all 3 of me going here they have never been on top of anything at all. i have been going there since 6th grade and all of a sudden they remove me from the school as if i never was enrolled, they are acting like the don’t have all of this in their hands, they refuse to return any phone calls or emails. we have gone through at least 3 principles in 1 year. just overall a bad school.Student Review9mo ago54 Reviews - Holm Elementary School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePros: Overall I think this is a well run school, Teachers are top-notch and eager to keep the kids engaged. Administration keep this school operating smoothly, at least from a parent's point of view. Parent participation is high. It's in a good, safe neighborhood and I feel comfortable letting my kids walk home on thir own. This is a school where teachers send their own kids. Very diverse populationCons: Morning drop off is a circus, walk if you can. The building is rather small, and feels a crowded. Class sizes are acceptible, but the classrooms are small and music and art classrooms are inadequate. The playground is dated and needs a makover. Speech therapy has a high turnover (but I think that is a district problem more than the school)Parent Review5mo ago18 Reviews - Samuels Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI wouldn’t recommend this school, if you don’t want your children coming scratched and bruised up daily; don’t enroll. School teachers, school principal, school staff does nothing about this behavior! Had a bad experience at this school with my child coming to school everyday to defend themselves instead of learning! I would never get contacted by the school when my child would be attacked by another student!(one day my child had blood on clothing, due to an altercation with two other students, my child had to change and I wasn’t contacted by Teacher, nurse or principal) Not acceptable; school teachers/ staff isn’t watching children thoroughly, along with not contacting parents when it comes to physical altercations/ children being harmed! Staff could have done better addressing situations like this in the school! Please pay close attention to your child and always ask them questions about their teachers and peers when sending them off to learn.Parent Review2y ago26 Reviews - Thomas Jefferson High School

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSick and tired of these kids being rude and disruptive on the RTD route 105 when school is over. They won't let a senior citizen sit down when the bus is full and they ride for free! I think a assembly is necessary to tell them too knock it off or walk home. Im SICK OF IT I went too the worst DPS school in Denver North High graduated in 1976. I think your students are pathetic little punks!Parent Review6mo ago17 Reviews - Joe Shoemaker School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had consistent awful experiences with the front desk. My daughter is In Kindergarten and has many challenges. The front desk has consistently made matters difficult to communicate with teachers and learn protocols. I wholeheartedly believe their micro aggressions are on purpose. My daughter will not be returning next year. I was gaslit when confronted. Not worth it if you expect equality in quality service. I don’t want to assume it’s because I’m a black mother, but it shouldn’t get to the point where I tried to figure it out. I can’t wait to transfer.Parent Review3mo ago3 Reviews - Check out schools near 4582 S Ulster St #1011.

"It’s OK unless Bellevue gives me some headache, but it’s all right. It’s not the best and then commute everywhere else. It’s just traffic congestion caused me stress "

"Light rail brings transients constantly! The huge movie theater went out of business and the entire parking lot is depressed! I believe they’re trying to change things around here, but they need to turn down the movie theater, which is huge and keep security on the move constantly. "

"Nothing is special about this area. I’m planning on moving out in the near future. People don’t greet you if they are out. The neighborhood is dirty and not kept up. There are multitudes of homeless people sleeping everywhere you go. "

"Hampden slows downs a bit during rush hour. The whole area can get congested during rush hour. But not quite as bad as neighborhoods closer to downtown."

"We have lived in the neighborhood for 11 years now. My wife grew up here. Great access to everything needed for home; right on the edge of the tech center; great access to highways. Four parks with a mile and the Highline canal trail are great for recreation. "

"This neighborhood is very well connected. Everything seems to be 5 minutes away, and public transport is readily available. Living here makes going to downtown or the airport easy, and is a way to live near the city but have a slower pace of life. "
