He encourages all students to be their best, rewards them for positive behavior as well as finds ways to uplift those who are struggling in school. He cares deeply and is incredibly passionate about his career. While the school is large, there is a way for everyone to get involved. Kids are able to participate in all types of activities starting in the 6th grade. There is a community culture that fosters family relationships and the learning culture is beyond the classroom. Also, there is diversity and Smith does a good job of celebrating it. My daughter comes home often telling me about other cultures and their customs. There has been some turnover in administration in the past 2 years but honestly, it does not seem to have had a negative impact. There is something for every student to get engaged, involved and ready for life beyond high school. This school has decisive school leaders, strong and very supportive teachers and coaches and true leadership opportunities for students. "I have lived here for 3 years. There are a good mixture of different races & cultures. People are physically active and can be seen walking or jogging daily. There are great places to eat and shop nearby. I can find everything that I need within a 3-5 mile radius. MARTA is also within walking distance should I decide to take it instead of driving."
