It's very obvious that certain students get singled out and spoken to in a rude, dismissive, and even demeaning way, while others are treated with patience and respect. Due to the area we lived, this was the school he was assigned to, in which I learned about the artful learning program. As a single parent, and also diagnosed with ADHD as a child - the artful learning program is so supportive of children at this young age to really grow their curiosity, creativity, and confidence. The level of support from the teachers, principals and staff has been outstanding! They truly understand and protect children’s educational needs as a whole and even at an individual level. Ottoman is so supportive, communicative and caring - without the politics! They truly put children’s needs first, even when behavioral issues arise, they work from a perspective of emotional intelligence - understanding that the child needs to receive more support versus disciplinary actions that can derail and set a child back. The teachers communicate with the parents well, while the principal is very active and is willing to offer personalized support to parents and children who express the need. Ottoman is also willing to work with both parent and child on their individual needs, even when my child expressed anxiety being in a higher reading group - we were able to make the change to build up his confidence and place him in a different group where he felt more comfortable. Further, the Bridges Afterschool on site program is the most amazing place with excellent staff that helps your child with homework, physical activity, games, meals and fun activities. As a working parent the support has been phenomenal, and I am proud that my child has the opportunity to attend this amazing school with a unique learning program, staff, and a principal that truly caresParent Review3y ago
