About this House
Hey there! I'm looking for a super chill, laid-back roommate to share my cozy home in Van Nuys. The available room is a spacious, inviting back room with plenty of natural light and a quiet vibe. It comes with some cozy decor, but you're welcome to make it your own I can move out the furniture, take down posters, and clear the space if you'd prefer to bring your own stuff. There's a small twin bed if you need one, but if you've got your own, that works too. The room is tucked away at the back of the house, with windows overlooking the backyard, so it's got a nice, private feel. The first few photos show the back room which will be all yours.
There is a large driveway that has more than enough space for both our cars. You'll have your own bathroom, which is located near the kitchen and washer/dryer, but we'd share the shower and tub in the main bathroom. No stress it's all about keeping things clean and comfortable for both of us.
The rest of the house is pretty great. The living room is my go-to hangout spot, with a projector, surround sound, a big screen TV, a fireplace, and super comfy seating (two couches and two recliners). I usually wind down here every night with a movie, and you're always welcome to join.
The backyard is where the magic happens. It's a total little haven with fruit trees, a fire pit (perfect for low-key bonfires), and my pride and joy a hot tub! I'm all about sharing it, as long as we keep it clean and follow a few simple ground rules. I also have a stock tank pool for the summer, which the dogs love to swim in, and you're welcome to use too.
Speaking of dogs, I've got three: my best buddy of 8+ years, who's my absolute ride-or-die, and two sweet, chill foster dogs. They're all super friendly and great with people. If you love dogs, you'll love them. I work from home, so I'm usually here. Ideally, I'm looking for someone who's not only good with dogs but would be comfortable with them if I have to step out. No extra pets are allowed, but my pups will more than make up for it. Also not looking to rent to any couples or you and a significant other who will always be here too.
The vibe here is really relaxed. I'm a filmmaker working on a few projects, so if you're into creative stuff or just enjoy hanging out in a comfortable, artsy home, this could be a great fit. The house is decorated with cool, eclectic touches, and I like to keep the atmosphere light and welcoming.
I'm asking $1700 a month, which covers everything rent, high-speed internet, water, sewage, trash, gas, and electricity. You won't need to worry about any extra bills, and you won't be responsible for yard maintenance either (gardeners come bi-weekly).
If you think you'd be a good fit and are looking for a laid-back, friendly home environment, hit me up! I'd love to chat and see if we'd vibe as roommates.
The lease is month-to-month, but if we get along and this is a good fit, we can discuss you sticking around for longer if everything works out. Rent is $2,000 a month, and that covers everything utilities, high-speed internet, water, trash, gas, and electricity so no hidden costs. I'm pretty laid back, but there's no smoking inside the house. You'll have full access to the house (except my room) and a big driveway with plenty of parking.
I've got three awesome dogs, so you've gotta be cool with dogs. They're all super friendly and won't be a bother to you. Unfortunately, no extra pets are allowed just because it would be too much with more dogs here.
All I ask is that you keep your space clean, help out with shared areas, and just be open and chill with communication. Pay on time and always be professional with money and payments. I want the house to be a relaxed and welcoming place for both of us.
