"My commute from Hagerstown to Washington, DC is long and demanding. Traffic congestion, accidents, and weather can significantly increase travel time, making the commute stressful and unpredictable on many days."
  • Talltotemtapestry
"It’s very affordable and convenient for the majority of the time. I find it to be very progressive as far as transportation. "
  • Diane D.
"I am trying to move out of this town. It has become a haven for drug users. I do not walk anywhere anymore. Panhandlers asking for money. Prices of homes are ridiculously high for this area. Hagerstown used to be a beautiful town. Not any longer. "

"It’s an extremely diverse area. There are all ages, cultures, races, marital status, and sexual orientation here. No one should ever feel excluded because there’s a little bit of everything here."
  • Debra Donaldson Hammond
"I don’t have a commute so I can’t answer this question. When I did commute, the traffic was horrible. That’s the same for the entire Washington, DC area, though. "
  • Debra Donaldson Hammond
"Downtown Hagerstown is not somewhere I would want to live due to the high crime rate, drug use, prostitution, and homelessness. However, the neighborhoods outside downtown are nice. "
  • SL
"Avoid downtown area. Don’t let your kids alone in the downtown area. Watch out for people trying to steal your car or a package. "
  • Nevonia B.
"The city of Hagerstown is a good place to raise a family and the community is the best they have lots of parks and places for recreation I couldn't ask for more."
  • Julie S.
"Hagerstown has a lot to offer as far as community events. If you look on the Hagerstown City webpage, you can look at community events. You may also prefer to follow on facebook for neighboring events. I have not lived there in that particular neighborhood for several years but, I do know people who still do reside there. "
  • Grace V. G.
"Lots of people have dogs so I don’t feel bad walking my dog or if he barks. Everyone picks up after their dogs usually and there’s plenty of places to walk your dog. Also a big park near by for running with your dog. Every dog I have met has been friendly and so are their owners. I wish there was a fenced dog area in the neighborhood but there isn’t. Closest one is a few miles away. "
  • Cristin B.
"It’s ok. You would have to take them to the park to run in a grassy area. There are several dog parks in and around town. "
  • Francesca D. M.
"Quiet and not much troubles around here. I feel safe where I live. I grew up in this town and it has changed a little but for the most part it is still a good place to live. "
  • Jaidlyn M.
"We have a lot of opportunity for the people , we take care of our own people are friendly . We have get togethers and it’s safe "
  • Treymann80
"Cool trick or treating and pool parties and lots of outdoor recreation like walking and jogging, a really nice park for the kids "
  • Jennifer D.
"difficult and slow about 40% of the time. Narrow streets with parking on both sides, no going delivery spots for trucks, and lots of foot traffic really all contribute to accidents and slow-downs"
  • Mr.deesmooth1
"I live here the people are nice being that I’m from another state I like it here. Now I’m in a situation where I’m on workers compensation right now but I want to check it out it looks nice "
  • Marybeth L.
"My Neighborhood has a lot of crime. and drugs. people out on their porch yelling at all hours of the night. noisy people in my building yelling at their kids. it is just bad all around. trying to move. "
  • Renee K.
"I've lived here forty years and it's really sad how the city has become. Crime has become really bad as well as the heroin epidemic "
  • Tevans1414

  • Michellemmorey

  • Natasha F.

  • Paul G.
"We have community dumpster days, bookmobile comes to the neighborhood occasionally, and we get visited by Jehovah's witnesses, even though there are signs that say no solicitation we regularly find notes and flyers on the door from various sources. Beyond that there is the occasional yard sale but community events are few and far between in the neighborhood. "
  • Teeshiawalker
"Lots of drug issues and some gang related crimes. Keep a close eye on your kids and there are many families that think it's okay to swear and smoke around young children. "
  • Roxnin54
