Read what parents are saying about South Hagerstown High SchoolI have two kids at this school. One is graduating this year with high honors and high SAT and has been accepted to Penn State premed. She was in their robotics program that teaches them good discipline. The other child is in the 10 th grade and doing very well. He is in track and involved.
Posted by a parent on 1/4/2019My son describes this school as being, "ghetto". He hasn't been there very long and has already been told by one of his teachers that he felt sorry for him for having transferred to this school. We were moved to this area site unseen, and not by choice. Seeing the riffraff that surrounds the campus, I would have to say ghetto is probably very accurate. Teachers have no control of the students in their classes, which makes it very hard for a child who wishes to learn concentrate. If you're considering moving to this district, keep looking. The area has some of the most affordable housing in the state, but remember, you get what you pay for.

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur experience with Bester has not been good. The principal is really very difficult to work with. Again from our experience, she puts forth little to no effort especially when it comes to helping parents if and/or when an issue arises. If the situation is involving one of the teachers, regardless of the seriousness, unfortunately it is highly likely little to nothing will be done to help both student and parent. The teachers for the most part have been really fantastic.Parent Review2y ago - Emma K. Doub Elementary School for Integrated Arts & Technology

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have been very pleased with the experience my children have had at this school. My daughters have had fantastic teachers! I've been very happy with the programs they have in place to challenge children who are advanced, and to encourage children who need a little extra help. The teachers and administrators are fantastic at facilitating a healthy, happy learning environment for all children.Parent Review7y ago - Pangborn Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy student went to Pangborn for school year 2013-2014, we have since moved to another state. I absolutely loved Pangborn for my child, they were excellent with him, ALL of the staff! Communication between parent and staff was also excellent! I have absolutely NO complaints about this school or staff. They did all they could to help my child and we're completely fair on discpline. my child had lots of problems with school but everyone was sooo helpful and never made me feel like i had a "problem child". The entire staff did all they good to make sure my child got the best education he could while there. I've always appreciated this school and do more so now that my child no longer goes there. Unfortunately not all schools are as great as this one.Parent Review8y ago - St Mary Catholic School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageElementary school is wonderful. Middle school was a nightmare. The science teacher continually told the students they were horrible and she would be ashamed to be there parent. Teachers worry too much about the little stuff and ignore major issues. My son got a detention for touching the door frame when leaving a class. They will give special attention to certain kids and completely ignore others. Only reason my son stayed is it is the only Catholic option in the county. The archdiocese had to come in multiple times this year to handle staff issues.Parent Review1y ago - Truth Christian Academy

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter was in Ms. Angela’s Kindergarten class. She is a wonderful teacher my daughter loved her and was excited to go to school every day. She learned so much and the small classroom size helped her grow close relationships with all of her classmates. Would highly recommend!Parent Review1y ago - Ruth Ann Monroe Primary
