What Locals Say about Southwest Elgin

  • 86nasus
"Looks like they did a really quick remodel with cut corners. Honestly, this house would have more charm if they would’ve left it how it was you can see bad angles, more pronounced now where they painted white to look more modern. Floors are crooked and leaning, and that would’ve been OK with original flooring."
  • Juana Valencia
"It could be better, I see a lot of ice around, scary and makes us feel uncomfortable more restaurants and lounges needed"
  • Jokie.deguzman1251999
"i usually walk to nearby stores, restaurants, and gas stations. otherwise i drive my car or take a uber for far locations"
  • Juanfyb 2.
"They would like that it is a quiet neighborhood there’s not a lot of noise around and it’s a good place to walk around and clear your head"
  • Grant S.
"we are off the beaten path as far as traffic is concerned... there is a very low crime rate in our neighborhood. we have two parks relatively close. there is a grade school within a quarter mile. lots of kids in the neighborhood. even though it appears to be primarily Hispanic there are few rentals and fairly descent upkeep of the houses and landscape. it's one of the quieter neighborhoods I've been in in my 25 years here in elgin"
  • Grant S.
"close to downtown but off the beaten path. except for trains a very quiet area. traffic tends to be too much at rush hours."
  • Amysmooch
"I have lived here for 11yrs and I love the way everyone is friendly. And neighbors still watch all the neighborhood kids to keep them safe . "
  • Grant S.
"quieter neighborhood.... quiet neighbors... lots of wildlife and birds. trains are a little bothersome"
  • Grant S.
"one of the quiter neigjborhoods I've lived in in elgin over 30 yrs and 8 different locations. i think the diversity of our neighborhood ethically is well balanced and adds to the feeling."
