UNDER CONTRACT - OPEN CANCELLED! Fabulous opportunity in North Cleveland Park! Just around the corner from newly developed City Ridge (Wegman’s, Tatte and more!) and less than 15 minutes to Tenleytown and Van Ness Metros by foot, this exceptional colonial is nearly 5,000 square feet over four levels. With the layout everyone is hoping to find, this light-filled home was beautifully renovated and expanded by Richard Zantzinger. Center hall entry leads to a generously sized living room with fireplace (which opens to a phenomenal covered terrace) and to a lovely dining room. The gorgeous chef’s kitchen with custom cabinetry, soapstone countertops, center island and counter seating overlooks the family room with bays to side and back - perfect to accommodate a breakfast table if desired. Doorways from the living room, back hall and family room access the large covered terrace, deck and gorgeous yard, complete with a playhouse built by Jim Gibson! Four bedrooms and three full baths are on the second level, including a fabulous primary suite with tray ceiling and walls of windows overlooking the rear and sides, a walk-in closet and a primary bath with double vanities, soaking tub and separate shower. Two additional large bedrooms and another bath are on the third level. Great recreation room with fireplace, 7th bedroom and 5th full bath are on the lower level, as is access to the oversized garage with automatic opener. Also nearby are the shops of Cathedral Commons and Cleveland Park, and numerous beloved public and private schools, parks and playgrounds, including the newly renovated Hearst Recreation Center, featuring playgrounds, fields and a brand new pool and tennis courts. Don’t miss the chance to be in the heart of it all in this lovely and serene spot!

"It’s a very pet-friendly neighborhood. There are lots of impromptu sidewalk doggie play dates. Everyone cleans up after their dog. There is easy access to Rock Creek Park"

"My Family has lived here since 1938. We have a 3 rd generation home. Nice big yard for dogs. My neighbor has a pool. We just had an ally party. My next door neighbors have lived there since 1976. We have Cherry trees that line our street. Old azaleas everywhere."

"I’ve loved living here. I’ve been here 2 years and it’s been great. It can be a little bit more expensive than other areas, but this neighborhood is worth it. I moved here right out of college without a great job, but even when I was tight, I appreciated the proximity to Rock Creek, great affordable restaurants, and the metro. "

"Lived here for 5-6 years - it’s the cleanest, most “neighborhood” type place in dc. You walk to the bank and they know your name... everything is on one block - drug store, pet store, restaurants, cleaners, grocery store, bank, liquor store, clothing shops, coffee shops, bike shop etc. lots of trees and relatively zero crime. It’s a very clean cut part of dc tons of dog parks, parks, schools, trails, jungle gyms, etc. this neighborhood is bad for only two reasons - one it’s extremely gentrified - two it makes all other neighborhoods seem inadequate in convenience and cleanliness "
