There have been ongoing safety concerns at this school related to bullying, which were reported but not adequately addressed. Some staff members have acted inappropriately, including giving gifts to students and engaging in conversations that made parents uncomfortable. A noticeable improvement in well-being was only experienced after leaving the school. The 4J district offers a lottery system that allows families to apply to other schools, regardless of their assigned neighborhood. For the sake of student safety and educational experience, it is strongly advised to consider utilizing this option.

The front office assistant, Elizabeth should make parents feel welcomed when picking up their child for an appointment. However, today she was so rude and didn’t call my child down to the office until I was standing in front of her. She then scolded me on how I’m “supposed” to call my child out in front of another parent. I let that go but the way she was talking to other students in the office was horrific. You can tell she was trying to keep her cool but I can imagine how she speaks to our children when parents are around. And no one else in administration said one word! Overall Kennedy can do better!! Starting with who greets you and interacts with you !Elizabeth, don’t take your personal problems out on everyone else. If you don’t like working with people and kids , find a new job!

I graduated from Churchill in 2009. I was part of IHS and it was an incredible program that prepared me for college so much better than my friends who were not part of that program. I would strongly recommend it to anyone! They also offer a wide array of high quality AP classes and free college now classes. This allowed me to gain college credit for every class I took starting my junior year. I also had total say of my schedule and was able to work in an internship my senior year and my transition to college was smoother than I think it would have if I had had adults looking over my shoulder every step of the way. However, while the school worked great for me and many others, it left struggling students behind and offered no effective support, leading several intelligent but disorganized people I knew to drop out. They all felt like the adults at that school were pushing them toward dropping out, rather than finding a way to work with them. I understand the school has changed its structure, I'm assuming in an effort to better support these students, but as of 2014, I know the school was still struggling in this area. Until this school figures out how to better serve ALL its students, I can't give it a better rating.
