My children had a great experience at Paso Robles High School

It is truly the best kept secret in Paso. I hope my grandchildren can go to school there.

The principal at this school has made the lives of many kids and their families a nightmare. Megen Guffey is extremely rigid and focused on the importance of her role and not on supporting the needs of the kids, especially those with special needs, accommodations, or differences. Inflexible and harsh, we found it almost impossible to have a conversation with her about the challenges our child was having in the second year at this school. She kept circling back to the school policy, rules, official procedure, and seemed unable to think creatively about how we might offer additional help for our child while keeping them in school. We know PR is a conservative district, but we still expected at least the principal to be supportive of all differences in a child. While the teachers have been great, the principal even seemed to exhibit bias and prejudice toward a child with gender identity differences in the way she spoke. While discussing our experience with other parents, we heard several similar stories. I hope she is removed from her position and not permitted to work with children any more.
