4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHarvard Kent has always been an amazing community school that really embraces their student body and strives to give the kids a great education. There were some bumps in the road with principal changes over the last few years, but the current (and permanent) principal has proven to be a huge asset. He loves the students, has a vision and is making huge improvements to the school every day (curriculum, school spirit, activities, engagement etc). We have considered sending our kids elsewhere but feel extremely committed to the school for all of our children. And as always - the teachers at the Harvard Kent are truly the warmest, smartest people and our kids leave every day feeling so loved.Parent Review8mo ago6 Reviews - Hugh Roe O'Donnell Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is terrible. The student body has extreme behavior issues that prevent most teaching and learning from happening. In classrooms you will see kids throwing things and screaming, and ignoring staff. Students are mean to each other and disrespectful to adults. Academic performance is very low - only 5-10% of students are at grade level. There are no real consequences for student misbehavior or academic failure. Safety is a serious concern. There are constant student fights, property damage, and acts of violence against other students and staff. Used needles are regularly found on school grounds (staff does their best to mitigate this, but it is still extremely unsafe). I recommend that parents send their children elsewhere.Other Review9mo ago3 Reviews - Lilla G. Frederick Middle School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSome teachers are wonderful. It is NOT a school for high needs children although it says it is. Children do not receive the correct pull-outs for therapy according to their IEP's and the school is very hard to work with. I have had children on IEP's; this school outright lies through their director of SPED. They do not follow laws or regulations and my child is caught in the middle. His academics are well below average and they are telling me he's doing fine. No, he isn't. So if your child has any special needs, be forewarned.Parent Review2y ago9 Reviews - Check out schools near 23 Cortes St #9C.

"There is a small dog run off Charles St. South. There is a larger one in the South End not too far away. I’d say it is dog friendly."

"After living here for almost five years, I can whole-heartedly say that Bay Village is an awesome neighborhood. You can walk to the Public Garden in 5 minutes, to restaurants in the South End in 5 minutes and there are lots of area parks, recreation and nightlife beyond close to this neighborhood. It is a like a quiet little gem amongst a bustling city. As for cleanliness, I can say it's one of, if not THE cleanest in the city. Literally one of our regular trash collectors told me that Bay Village is the neatest and cleanest neighborhood of them all, "the neighbors take such great care of it". I think that's pretty impressive to hear. Also, on-street parking is rarely an issue, we usually park within a two minute walk of our house if not direclty around the corner or in front. If you're lucky enough to be one of the few that spends anytime of your life to live in this gem, then consider yourself lucky and visit Mike & Patty's often...best little sandwich shop in town. "
