3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI don't understand how this school is only rated one star! My child has gone here from pre-k through 2nd grade, and will be in the third grade here next year. Each one of his teachers has been absolutely amazing! The principal Mr. Beuke and the Vice principal Mrs. Kahil are fantastic! Every teacher at this school truly care for their students! My son has had an incredible experience here. He originally had an IEP, but thanks to the wonderful staff he has been able to graduate from his IEP and move strictly to a 504. The staff here is like family, and truly work together to make this the best place they can for students. Sure, there is a little bullying, but what school doesn't have that. Here it is NOT tolerated, and every student is held accountable for their actions. I would recommend this school and think that it should be rated higher.Parent Review11mo ago - Thornton Middle School

What Locals Say about Denver

"It’s a dangerous place. Gunshots, helicopters, SWAT teams, high people in the park, police raids every weekend. "

"My commute to downtown Denver is short and easy. Lowry is very conveniently located to both central Denver and DIA"

"A lot of dog owners and everyone is good at keeping their dog on leash or in their yard. There are cats that live in the neighborhood and none of the dogs have attacked or harmed any of them in the 2 years I’ve been here. "

"Easy trails, small creek and lots of green parks with mature trees. Very peaceful yet plenty of young fun families that like to be outdoors. "

"Dog owners are everywhere! Very friendly, most people pick up after their dogs. Very few off leash. "
- Thomas Greene
- Resident

"They would like the walkability and the access to all of the different parks and resources. They would also love how dog friendly mostly everywhere is. However, they would not like the amount of dog waste that is left in some places (left unattended, it prevents other dogs from wanting to “go potty” in those areas)"

"Lots of people walking their dogs, everyone is friendly. Nice trails and parks nearby. Forty plus years in this area. "

"I used to love this neighborhood, but it has gone downhill the past couple of years. If I had children, I would not feel comfortable letting them play in the front yard due to cars consistently driving over the speed limit. "

"Many dogs in the area but plenty of safe areas to walk and parks to visit. Most owners are friendly and respectful. "

"It’s very welcoming community, is the city, so you’re going to find that trash bins in your alleyway sometimes, however, the sense of family in the community is strong. Parents play with their kids in the park, people will gather for outdoor activities, jog, play with their dogs. For me, it’s a perfect blend. Just outside the mischief, but close enough when you need it."
