Diamond-in-the-rough stately 1930's Colonial in the foothills above the Rossmoyne that sits up off the street affording lovely Glendale city and San Fernando Valley views and featuring loads of amazing intact character detail throughout as well as peaceful outdoor spaces. The homes formal entry has original wood floors in a chevron design, two large coat closets and a sweeping staircase with original wrought iron rail. The Living and Dining Rooms are accented with period wood trim, moldings and wainscoting as well as large leaded glass windows that let in tons of natural light. The original Kitchen has an attached but separate east facing breakfast room with inlaid wood floors as well as an attached laundry room with side yard access. The main floor also has the 4th Bedroom (better used as a Den) with another door to the side yard as well as the main floor's vintage red-tiled 3/4 Bathroom. Atop the staircase is a spacious landing with an alcove that has more leaded glass windows as well as a linen closet. The Primary Suite with dramatic city views is huge and features a dressing area as well as a dedicated vintage full Bathroom with separate tub and shower. The additional two Bedrooms are also generously sized with one also affording city views. Those two bedrooms share a Jack and Jill full Bathroom. The outdoor spaces include a brick patio with fireplace, a grassy area anchored by a waterfall fountain and a shaded path that leads to a charming garden shed. Upgrades include copper plumbing throughout, an updated electrical panel and new wiring, central forced air heat with newer ducting and a water tight roof. The wood floors throughout are the original hardwood and in most rooms were covered in wall-to-wall carpeting until very recently. "Calm, friendly and safe area. Our kids can walk to school or anywhere they need to go. There are many neighbours walking with dogs, but it’s still clean on the streets. The park is close to go but there’s no lights after the sunset. "
  • Migdia C.
"Lots of groomed leashed dogs in the area most are well mannered — I would make sure drivers on mountain cone to a full stop before crossing "
  • Migdia C.
"I’ve lived here for many years and own a historic home -/ it’s a gorgeous safe neighborhood of established trees and well kept upscale properties. Short drive to amenities and parks "
  • Trulia User
"The neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. The happening areas are near enough to walk to. There are a lot of trees lining the streets, and it’s great for jogging."
  • Destiny E.
"Rossmoyne is a wonderful area to have and walk a dog. However, there are many coyotes around so you must be aware and carful too. "
  • Predi G.
"Not only parents also pet owners. There are a lot of cayoties living around here make sure to use leash for the dogs and be careful of kids if you have a back yard. "
  • Mariam Z.
"I lived here for 2 years. Very clean area with nice neighbors. Spacious living and safe feeling. Police always patrol around the area too and you feel good knowing they are around "
  • Ian A.
"It’s a very nice, quiet neighborhood. People are generally friendly, not necessarily super outgoing but nice. It’s clean."
  • Rpetevanderveen
"Great parks, purple walking all day and evening, lots of dogs, nice ethnic mix of residents, eclectic houses, no two the same, very safe, friendly neighbors, close to freeways, downtown, laid back, high level of home maintenance, mature trees everywhere "
  • Rpetevanderveen
"I've lived in this neighborhood for almost a decade. I have great neighbors, we watch out for each other and every one is friendly. I often walk the neighborhood at night and have never felt unsafe. I walk to the grocery store, downtown, to the post office, to the park, to restaurants, etc. Everyone is friendly and greets each other. I like the fact that the neighborhood is very eclectic, diverse, quiet, and everyone maintains their homes and lawns and gardens. I have had numerous wild animals in my yard, including coyotes, deer, raccoons, a lynx, and opossum, but have never been concerned. It's a great place!"
  • Ladub M.
"Has gotten worse over the last 3-4 years. No accessible metro train to Hollywood and Beverly Hills. So seems public transportation is available to downtown la commuters."
